Last night.
Austin.
Leonard Cohen.
A-MA-ZING!!!!
Death from previously-unimaginable-levels-of-squee highly possible. Today's forecast: continuing recovery from assault of awesomeness.
BEST. NIGHT. EVER.
really.

Oh yeah, I'm totally using my annual get-out-of-lj!cut-jail-free card.

missmarch:
1. Hey, Don't stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something political, such as a picture of John McCain or Barack Obama, or the Bill of Rights of the Constitution, or a picture of the Lincoln Memorial or my own personal favorite, the Declaration of Independence(I just love a document that praises the pursuit of happiness, I can't help it) Something that has EVERYTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS and maybe makes you feel patriotic as a citizen of whatever country you live in. This is a big deal for the US and I celebrate it. I'd love to hear what people who live in this country love about it, and I'd love to hear from people who live in other countries. Tell me what do you love about your countries-what makes you patriotic, if anything.
3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.

Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed--
Let it be that great strong land of love

But opportunity is real, and life is free,
Equality is in the air we breathe.

Yet I'm the one who dreamt our basic dream
[...]Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true

We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain--

All, all the stretch of these great green states--
And make America again!
( this just in.... )
;-)

music: Laura Burhenn - Chelsea Hotel #2
>> I'm moving. When I renewed my lease last year I was already considering a move. But now, with the added motivation of getting away from where I lived when all the crap happened, I decided it was definitely time. I'm going to be just inside the outer loop and while the new place lacks the ghetto-adjacent charm of my current residence, I think it'll be a neat area - one that I'm not familiar enough with to be bored of yet.
As preparation, I've been doing a complete media overhaul. It hasn't only been cathartic with the added bonus of profitability (three trips to Half Price resulting in over $400!), but also surprising. I sold my BtVS sets with only the slightest pause - a rewatch of The Wish - but found it really hard to make a decision about the AtS sets.
>> Work has been the smallest bit less busy, so I've had some time to start checking out the new fall tv schedules. Nothing has grabbed me in that OMGYOUMUSTWATCHME way, but there a few that I'm interested in. I'm sure more "info" about the shows will leak.
Besides the new shows, I'm generally ok (with a side of Hell Yeah! for more Office) with any changes in the schedules. The one show I wanted to get canceled, didn't. There wasn't any expectation that it really would, but one can always hope for a pleasant surprise. And no, even though I'm a g_w member, I wasn't praying, campaigning, or even wishing for the cancellation of Veronica Mars. That show got itself canceled many, many months ago and I'm not exactly happy with that. How can I be when everything I loved about the show was either obliterated or distorted into a cheap & hollow caricature?
>> I hope that anyone who got a long weekend enjoyed it. I'm so ready for summer and ( summer tv! )
>> Watch this space for: Veronica Mars finale review (it's gonna be glorious!), possibly massive music post, "He-Man/She-Ra conundrum - who really had the power?", and the Veronica Mars multimedia extravaganza that wasn't (all the music videos ideas I ever had for the show)
