Sunshine, by Danny Boyle

The Sun is dying... The Earth is frozen in a solar winter... They are going to send a bomb to try to reignite the Sun... A crew of 8, locked in a spaceship protected by a massive shield, with the largest bomb ever made by Man. Alone, and very far away from home... (and at this point, someone should say 'in space, no one can hear you scream'... it's true, though!)

Well, I know this plot appears to be quite weak, more worthy of a lesser Star Trek episode than in a film by Danny 'Trainspotting' Boyle. After giving us post-apocalyptic zombies in '28 Days Later', it's nice to see that he continues to try to explore the universe of human emotions. And as a result, here is one of the best films I've seen lately... Sci-fi, terror, thriller, somewhere between 2001 and Event Horizon. There's something about deep space terror that just works very well... Space noise or something...

There is not much to tell, the story is not very complex (not that this means anything), but there are parts of this movie that are completely amazing... I don't recall a better way to die than the one shown first in this movie... It brings a whirlwind of emotions... Mainly pain and awe, though...

I believe that never a film portrayed the Sun with such expression... If a god did really exist, it would show itself in it... The beginning, and the end...

I recommend you to see it in a theater, if possible in the second row, as I did! If you're a science fan, you'll like it!
