red licorice
Every now and then someone brings in a big plastic jug of red licorice. Every now and then I succumb and think "oh, it couldn't have been as bad as I recall, I'll just try one and see".

The first thing that hits after opening the lid is a huge puff of smell which I can only describe as red. Intensely red. Snatching one piece and running away, the single piece is just mildly red in scent. Biting into it, I am reminded of the texture of rubber. Soft and chewable rubber, but rubber, and a faint reddish taste.

Ew. I may have created a new method for dieting: The Red Licorice Diet.

	Oh, I love red licorice! My parents think it's vile, but that's what I think of black licorice which they love. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	I used to enjoy both forms of licorice. It is possible the plastic vat collected all of the scent of red and just shot it up at me, which caused everything else to taste fake. But at least in this instance, I'll still say: ew. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	Those ghettoriffic jugs of red licorice-style-sugar-delivery-systems may as well be made of extruded bike tires. I'm a Twizzlers man, but Lexi rolls with Red Vines. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Extruded bicycle tires.. hey, something to do in my old age! I can pedal around Oakland with tires made of red licorice, making sure to go past the schools. As children approach I'll call out "go ahead, try some.. don't worry, that embedded asphalt is good for you". And everyone will call me Sweeney Wonka, the Mad Bicyclist of Sugar.
