Have you ever commented on a blog post? Of course you have, what kind of a question is that foo!?, you asked. But just in case you haven't - why are you reading this blog, or any other blog anyway? Don't you know that bloggers just absolutely hate silent readers? Yeah, they do. Well, if you're a first time visitor to a particular blog, the author would definitely be cool and content that you just read his/her posts and not interact in any way. But recurring visitors, who silently and feverishly follows your blog from God knows when ,but never make him/herself known, that is a big no-no for bloggers who painstakingly and lovingly craft their posts for the masses to digest.Okay, so you are an active commenter - that's good. But time and time again, when I went for the occasional bloghopping, I came across well-written blogs... that nobody commented on. Sometimes strings of quality and clever posts go by that has the status "Comments: 0" following each and every one. Compare these to the countless blogs out there, which posts nothing more than what they bought or plan to buy when shopping, their quarrel with boyfriends, and some big and hip events only they have the privilege to go to. Heck, there was even this superfamous blogger who posted e-mail conversations between her and her boyfriend regarding their relationship problems. Hello~ ~.. what a drama queen!Whereas readers like me would either exit her blog with the utmost haste (as if looking at it any longer would give us a venereal disease) or passionately make our loathing at her blogging ethics known through commenting, the rest of her rabid fans proceeded to bombard her with praises and support. Auw c'mon people! You're either shallow, ass-kissers or hypocrites. Only a couple of readers (one is a good online friend) politefully reminded her that its not proper to reveal the intricacies of her relationship to the public. They promptly got boo-ed at afterwards.Thankfully, I found a few good writer-bloggers along the way, that are famous in their own right. They keep posting one good entry after the other, its such a pleasure to see that they gain a following, even though its not as big as I think it should. Sometimes, their posts are so complete, they leave no room for us readers to constructively add to the topic. If that happens, I just go for the default, "Nice post!", hehehe.Actually, the idea for this post came right after I commented on a blogger's post. I accidentally double-posted (followed by a swift flush of embarrasment) . And somehow I got myself thinking about the whole commenting and blogging ettiquete. Heh, sometimes the nucleus for change (or in this case, a blog post) comes from silly mistakes. Go figure.
