Hi, I'm the writer/director of a new musical opening in SF, and we're having open auditions tomorrow between 11am-3pm! You can visit the show's website for a detailed synopsis and to hear the demo. I'm looking for four men and four women for the cast, who want to take part in bring a new theatrical piece to life!
And it's a paid gig, how about that!
Auditions: Sunday, 12/6, 11am-3pm
Callbacks: Monday, 12/7, 7pm-10pm
Where: The Thick House, 1695 18th Street (on Portrero Hill between DeHaro and Arkansas), SF
Prepare: 32 bars, musical theatre ballad, no rock or pop
Bring: Current resume and headshot (photo copy fine), sheet music scored for the piano in the correct key and a conflict calendar.
Non-AEA only. $250 travel stipend offered, all ethnicities encouraged.
Rehearsals begin: January 11, 2010 (M-Th, Sat, Sun (as needed))
Performances: February 18 – March 21, 2010 (Th at 7pm, Fri-Sat at 8pm, Sun at 5pm)
CHARACTERS:
Elyse (Late 20’s – Early 30’s – Strong belter to Eb with a good mix) Leader of The Gilded, and secretly Princess Lisette of the D’Austine Kingdom. As their leader, fantastic and relentless. As princess, reluctant and dreamy-eyed.
Kelsey (Early –Mid 20’s – Light, natural mezzo) Tobias’ best friend, hard working and realistic.
Marta (Late 20’s-Mid 30’s – Alto) Former leading lady of The Gilded, now always plays the witch. Former lover of Arden.
Clea (Late Teens – Early 20’s – Legit, classical soprano to high C) Marta’s younger sister, who plays the princess and loves it.
Tobias (Early –Mid 20’s – Strong tenor, solid belt to F#) A fidgety and flighty young man forced into training to be a soldier. Undisciplined and always in search of adventure.
Arden (Late 20’s-Mid 30’s – Tenor, to G) A street magician, Elyse’s good-hearted, jovial partner in crime and the founder of The Gilded. Always plays the wizard.
Vincent (Early-Mid 20’s – Bari-Tenor, belt to D#)Arden’s younger brother. Tired of traveling and only performs out of necessity – he reluctantly plays the knight.
Leo (Late 20’s – Early 30’s – Bari-Tenor) Elyse’s younger brother, and Crown Prince of the D’Austine Kingdom, who has spent the last five years trying to find her.

So I've decided to move to San Francisco in January!
I'm thrilled... I've been hankering to make a home out West for almost a year.
I know absolutely no one, and so far I have no leads on a job or place to live.
I'm a kids yoga teacher, raw vegan chef, nutritionist, Reiki Master, jeweler, exotic dancer, wanderer, worshipper, mover, shaker, cowboy, Quaker... etc.
If anyone knows of a cheap room or studio for rent near downtown, or of a great place that's hiring (raw/vegan and/or "new-agey" environment preferred) or would like to put me up for a bit when I get there in exchange for some great company while I search for those things in person, let me know! | Exclusive, Previously Unreleased In Tenebris Remix available NOW |

Over the thanksgiving holiday, I read an update on facebook from an old friend of In Tenebris about a tragedy in our extended musical family. Chris Mais, keyboard player for Radio-Active-Music recording artists Reaver, lost his daughter to SIDS. Though In Tenebris never played with Reaver, I still felt deeply for Chris & his family. The post that I read mentioned that R-A-M was going to be putting together a compilation to help raise money for the family to cover funeral costs.
I instantly knew that I had to do something to help with this compilation, so I opened up the old In Tenebris Vault, and found the perfect track. Just before going on tour to support the release of the self-titled album, Marshall completed a remix of the album's signature song "Chrysalis" intended for club play. This is when Tacit Act was just going to be a name he used for remixing, and not a project of it's own!
We all loved the remix, but the band split before we could put it to any use, and it's been sitting around waiting to find a home since then. It has never been released in any form prior to this compilation.
If you are reading this, and are a fan of In Tenebris, please consider buying this compilation. The requested donation is $5.00, but I believe when you see the amount of time and love that went into the creation by such a tight group of artists, you will agree it is certainly worth more.

Hey, there, ladies and gents. I know it's the time for exams and cracking down on everything and all that, it may be a good time for a bout to relax. I don't know how many of you are aware, but there is an Anime club that meets every Friday on campus, Anime FX. We show various series on Friday afternoons, and also have a chill room in which we usually geek out and the like.
This week, however, we will be having our Anime Club swap meet, so if you're interested in getting some good deals or custom crafts, you may want to stop by!
The meet usually starts at 4:30 or so, and is held in HSS 153.
So, yeah! I think that's about it. If you have questions, just leave them here and I'll get back to you as soon as possible! ^^

This is a quick plug for a charity event that I am helping to put on as a part of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Since 2008, The Sisters have put on a monthly bingo to raise funds for various local charities. December's Bingo will be our last monthly bingo and we are hoping to end the run with a bang!
