This has being a while coming because I've had lots of other work I should be focusing on. That hasn't actually changed but I figure at this rate it'll be a month before I post anything.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
I lowered my expectations greatly in the lead up. Oh yes, as my comments in my previous entires will show, I was still looking forward to it. But I was ready for tripe. For over used gags and a badly stitched together plot. As it turns out, I very much enjoyed the film. Still had over used gags. In fact, I don't think they could have gotten away with them if this wasn't the third movie. Half of the gags in AWE relate to gags from the previous movies. The plot is character driven. A lot of people have complained about it being too complicated to follow, what with everyone making deals with everyone and backstabbing them at the same time, you know. I didn't find it confusing at all. There are only one or two things which aren't specifically stated that I question, but that's about it. I be recommending it! Go along and have fun.

Dear Universe, Buy this for me please <3
Kian was the second head I fell in love with after Chiwoo. I don't have an ebay account and the bid is already getting a bit too high for what I can afford right now. I can only hope another Kian will come around sometime... hopefully... damn they're rare >.< Gah, can't stop thinking about him!

Wish me luck peoples.
Following these I have the two exams that I mentioned a couple of posts ago... so looking forward to the 15th of June.

What would you like in an ipod skin design? For one of my subjects we have to design an ipod. Sort of the skin but we can change the colour of buttons and all as well. I need a theme. Like now. And yes, I can ask people =P So what would be a good/cool theme that you would like? The target audience is people our age and ideally is also something that Apple would also think is good to produce. Any ideas?

I saw The Illusionist with they family this evening =D It's good. I recommend it. It's different to The Prestige. They both have magicians and are set around the same time era and although the stories both deal with love, lost and found, they are flavoured and delivered and emphasized quite differently. As are the 'magic' acts. The interesting part for me, and probably also other Elisabeth fans, is that it's set in Vienna and the character of Crown Prince Leopold has some parallels to Rudolf. There's also a point in the movie when Eisenheim (our magician hero) creates a portrait of the Emperor and it is clearly an image of the real Franz Joseph in his later years. This only made me think of Leopold as being some sort of take on Rudolf even more. Given we sometimes see Leopold at what appears to be his hunting lodge... Although Leopold is clearly the antagonist of the movie and probably not like the real Rudolf in personality. "Ah, there's that blue uniform!" The Illusionist, like The Prestige, is based on a book. A short story, I think it was in this case. There's one thing I didn't like and that's the need to explain things through quick flashbacks at the end of the movie. Not just here but in many 'mystery' movies. It leaves viewers arguing; "Was it or wasn't it...?"

It's autumn now, can we please quit it with the summer weather? I'm not asking for freezing cold days and rain and hail, jut milder... enough of these hot, muggy and unpleasant days.
So I've had my first week of uni! ... And I've already finished a subject XD Sort of. I may be exempted from another one, Quantitative Analysis. My past maths teachers have confirmed I've already covered the topics and my course coordinator gave me an exemption but it has to be finalised in some meeting. Amy, my course coordinator, did mention I'm not supposed to have this many exemptions so we'll see. But it looks good ^^ So I changed it for Multimedia Technology which looks boring but useful. Sound waves, compression techniques, data storage technologies, audio and video capture technology, etc. I've covered the basics of all this before so I hope it goes into more detail. The reason I chose that particular subject is because it was the only core subject I could do. I wanted to sub QA with another business subject but they all have the same prerequisite, Marketing Concepts, which I'm doing this semester. This means, after the semester and assuming I pass everything like I plan, I have only 4 multimedia subjects to do to finish my course but 7 business ones. I knew I was going to have more business ones but I was hoping to balance it better instead of doing 3 multimedia and 1 business this semester. Still, it's all good and interesting and stuffs. This is of course going to F up my timetable. I believe MT has two lecturers which everyone must attend and one of those runs only on Mondays. Poop.
Today I had two tutorials. Myself and about 16 or 17 other students turned up for the Marketing Concept one. Pitty the tutor didn't. We waited half an hour then almost as one everyone left. I had been talking to another girl, Teagan, and she and I decided to go see the subject convener. It seemed like a very high school thing to do (I'd gotten used to TAFE where no teacher means the day off) and Teagan is straight out of high school but it was worth it because we got to join another tute which runs at the same time. And this tute had only four students so far, yay for smaller classes! I think I'll see if I can stay. The funny thing is that one of those four is a boy I went to Caulfield with.
I also discovered that Luke, Tom's (from my TAFE course, he came along to Manifest) younger brother, is in my UED tutorial. I had met Luke on campus before and when I went to Tom's party as well. So that was another funny coincidence. Well... not a complete coincidence as we're doing the same course.
Hmm... newbies are characterised by walking around looking lost. Because I'm still at Swinburne I'm not really lost. Not physically at least, I know the campus. But I guess I am administratively. Like "who the hell do I see about such-and-such?" kind of things. I attended O-week stuffs but slept and skipped the 'Welcome to Swinburne' and campus tour (which I went on two years ago). That was fun ^^ The sessions were engaging. They kept giving us lollies to help keep us awake during the boring but necessary bits. And as always there was free food and entertainment between sessions. Actually the SSAA has been running activities this week too as part of their 'Welcome Back' session. Another thing I discovered is the change to the student cafe. I think it may have been privatized but don't know... it's called Feeding Place Swinburne. Where as before it was dingy looking and didn't offer much apertising food it's not cool and modern in appearance and offers a wide range of meals. Cold things like salad rolls and sandwiches and sushi and sashimi and salads, warm meals which have been grouped into Indonesian, Indian, Chinese, and Western (Italian) dishes, and the usual hot food like sausages and chips. There's some made to order meals too, udon and ramen noodle soups and what really surprised me was gado gado. I love that XD I'll have to try it one time. Also Coffee HQ has joined the student cafe. Carl, Torri's older brother and coffee addict, lamented that of course this would occur after he left. It actually got me thinking how much Swinburne had changed since I arrived. I guess these places are always upgrading and changing.
Now, to find out if SAC is still in operation and if they are where do I sign up?

Hattie is a Uni Student now =D Assuming everything has gone through well, I'm all enrolled! Haven't got a timetable yet as that'll be organised next week (naturally the system for selecting your preferred blocks goes online whilst I'm away), but I chose my subject. As I have a year's worth of exemptions, most from the Multimedia side of my course, I chose to do core subjects this year. Should help give me a clear idea of the course. I have few electives anyways because of exemptions, and my wish to able to (re)pick up a language has died as a result.
Tomorrow I leave for Canberra. 6 days I'll be away. Theoretically I return on Monday but as I'm expecting it to be near midnight, we might as well say I return Tuesday. May have some interesting stories to tell when I return... or I may not! Haha! I've never being to Canberra before. Once again, I don't imagine I'll get to see much of it.

Happy New Year! Ok, I'm a bit late ^^;; It's being one of those weeks. I've hardly being home for it. Or I've being a bit out of it when at home. But yes, new year's was very good for me. Thanks to sefieslj and rukubites for hosting again! It was a great night =3 Singing, fireworks, sex cake, foods, drinks, meeting some new peoples and catching up with others... Fun fun ^^ Thank you Ryo for the PS2 and games =D I being playing lots, mostly Katamari. Benj had being playing it too, he also thinks it's crack. I wasn't sure he'd be interested but I was very wrong. His dinner got cold tonight because he insisted on finishing a level instead of pausing. *ponders* I luff D&D ^-^ I got new books for Christmas (from Benj) and have had a chance to try them out. Fortunately my dice have being behaving, unlike Torri's. Hmmm, seems like it might be a while until we next get to have a session of Mary's game. Gah! Part of me wants to work it out, the other part doesn't because then the mystery would be gone. Why are they working together... I swear, if Tosh becomes annoyed enough he'll resort to torture to find out what Nathaniel/Dakhem knows! Who cares if he's another party member XD Nick wanted more torture in the game... cos, you know, the last attempt went so well. A party of primarily good characters attempting to torture information out of some very stubborn lackies... *cough* Sorry, I'll stop there. I had a visitor at work today =D That was very nice.
Ooo, and I'm going away again. Yup. Back to Phillip Island, leaving this Monday for a few days, will be back Thursday. Also, CanCon is soon! Leaving Wednesday the 24th and returning Monday the 29th. Which has me worried as I think I have to do something for uni enrollment around then... gah, I dun wanna be stressed about this >.< Update: It's all good, uni enrollment is on the 23rd! Yay, no clashing!

LiveJournal has changed it's update layout o.O Or maybe it's just me.

Last reminder =D When: This Saturday at 2pm Where: Southern Lawn of the Botanical Gardens (refer to previous post for map) Dress: Alice in Wonderland inspired Bring: A small something to share, be it food or drink, if you can. If people want to mention what their bringing in the comments so others have an idea of what will already be on offer that'd be good (Should have suggested this earlier, I apologise). I shall be bringing some cake/tart and should I relocate our thermos some hot water and milk and teabags. I can also provide plastic plates, sporks, and polystyrene cups (sadly not terribly elegant). Forgot to get serviettes though >.< If anyone else has a thermos and would like to bring along some hot water too that'd be good because they're not very big. Forecast: The weather forecast at the moment is predicting Fine and 23˚C, which sounds good.
Flinder's Street Meet up: I aim to be under the clocks at Flinder's Street station by 1:15 so we can leave there by 1:30 and take the tram together. This is for those who were traveling in by train. Everyone else, we'll meet you in the gardens at 2:00 as stated above =D
And last but not least, those who would like my mobile number please email me at mad(dot)hatter(at)hotmail(dot)com. Anyone whom I have ever given my number to before, don't fret, it hasn't ever changed.
*goes digging to try and find the two thermos*

Okies, time for some updates. We shall be meeting on the Southern Lawn. It's pretty, it has a lake, and it's fairly close to a tram stop on Domain Road. As some may know, the Botanical Gardens are not easily accessible by public transport from St Kilda road... at least not when you are potentially wearing platforms or heels or other highly fashionable but not-made-for-walking shoes.
Here is a map:
Green outlines the meeting place, blue outlines the closest tram stop. The tram route to take is the number 8. Got that? The number 8! No other route number travels along Domain Road. So yes, the number 8 to Toorak is what you want. It apparently comes approximately every 12 minutes, according to the Metlink website. It travels down St Kilda road to the Domain junction (just past the Shrine) where it turns onto Domain road. If anyone wishes I can meet up at Flinder's Street station and make the trip as a group.
I have been asked a couple of times so I'll answer this now as well. Yes, BJDs are welcome so long as they comply to the dress code as well =P I do ask it does not turn into a doll meet though as that is sadly something I and some others cannot participate in.

As my birthday this year was too close to Manifest on one side and close to exams on the other I had put off celebrating it until now. I realise it is now close to Christmas but if I waited until after that it would be the new year... So! Saturday the 16th it is, although at the moment it would be possible to shift it by a day or two if people have preferences? I hope to hold it within the Botanical Gardens, but once again if people have a preference for the Alexandra ones then that's possible too.
The details in short... For: To celebrate my 20th birthday this year When: 2pm, 16th of Dec Where: Botanical Gardens What: At the moment, if people could please bring a little something to share. It's in the afternoon and I'm assuming people will have lunched so nothing too taxing. If you can't, then that's ok. Dress: Alice in Wonderland style. Be it full on cosplay or just slightly inspired. Imaginations run wild! If anyone has any food allergies or other dietary requirements please mention either in an email or in the comments
More details will follow as I receive feedback! RSVP ASAP please ^^;; Thanks goes to pfcblogshere for helping me with the invite.
Note: Any LJ updates I make in the next couple of days may be backdated to appear older then this one.

Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
Last Monday I committed genocide... Sorry about that, soriyu (-5000 points). Last Sunday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole butterflyishida's purse (30 points). Last Saturday I bought porn for eviltom (10 points). In April I donated bone marrow to baorin_lee in a life-saving procedure (300 points). Last week I didn't flush (-1 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-4661 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!
Sincerely, mad_hatter__ |

*raises hands* I have completed my assignments! Also, two exams down with decent marks. Hey, considering I walked into Physics having only studied the content of one out of the five pages, I'd say 80% is decent. Considering half of the year level failed, but I don't think that's saying much. I must admit, I didn't always attend Physics. Oh no, I didn't 'waaag' ^_~ I was either sick or there in person but fast asleep on my desk. I did a lot of sleeping in Physics this semester. Those who know me probably won't find it surprising that I actually sleep in class. Dream sometimes too. That's bad 'cause then you wake up thinking "shit, hope I didn't talk in my sleep or do anything weird". I also did plenty of sleeping in Cralph's classes and a few naps in maths... in other words, the subjects when we're not in front of computers. Speaking of Cralph, I've also done his pracs which surprised me. We were given about 20 but only five of them had to be handed in. Still, I'm betting on 'fail' for his classes. I've also already 'passed' Database and there's still an exam.
I had more to talk about but I'm been kicked off so dad can do work... blurgh.

Edit: Sorry, eleberation (what I get for hastily updating during class... yes, my computer is still dead). I'm refering to EoD's performances.
