- Hello! If you want to friend me, please drop a note so I know who you are!
1. I have three kids: 5, 3, and 6 months old (as of today.) Married to
klarfax.
2. We homeschool for the fun of it.
I believe strongly that children are people and should be treated as such. I believe that we are born with basic instincts to learn the skills we need to survive in the world, the skills we see actively valued and used around us.
3. I think a lot about political economy and related issues. Politically, I self-identify as a psuedo-wannabe-anarcho-socialist with vaguely primitivist leanings. I'm naturally shy and abhor violence, coercion, and assholerly.
4. I think many liberals have their heads in the sand and are ignoring the broad, structural problems which are destroying society (and the world) in favor of petty bullshit.
Sometimes I'll post something like an Marxist interpretation of Winnie the Pooh. This is meant to be funny.
5. I am interested in pre-industrial lifestyles and cultures (and just plain ol' non-Western ones), mostly for the perspectives they offer on food production, health, lifestyle, and social organization.
6. I think about food A LOT. I think the Western Diet is crap onna stick, the food pyramid is deeply flawed, and don't hold with dieting.
7. Atheist.
You don't have to agree with me on everything (hell, my husband doesn't,) but you do have to be respectful if you're going to post here. :)
