so my leg is more bung than i thought
so it turns out that i had blood clots (or deep vein thrombosis) in my calf. cool. i was delighted. the trip to the emergency department was most exhilirating. i got the week off work, but then i nearly died of boredom mixed with a little pain since i could hardly walk and found it extremely uncomfortable standing or sitting in a chair. i spent the week lying on the couch with my leg propped up with four huge pillows so that it was above my heart. time went a little slow.

i have been going in for daily blood tests and injections to help thin out my blood, as well as taking warfarin nightly to also aid in the blood thinning battle. it sure is fun. and depending on the outcome of my initial blood test (seeing if i have any genetic blood clotting dispositions) i may be on drugs for life - woohoo! something to look forward to, eh.

and all i was worried about at the emergency department was whether i could go on my trip to oz or not (two weeks tomorrow!). at first they said no, and that made a couple of tears come. then luckily, the next day at the haemastasis clinic (where they specialise in blood clots) they said i could. oh happy day.

the white thigh to toe stocking i have to wear is HOT though.

so last friday i learnt of a sub-editor position with nzgirl and it is like me in a job description. i am going to apply for it and applications close on the 27th (this friday!). it has completely come out of the blue but it is such a good way to get my foot in the door as opposed to just going back to uni and learning about it! i hope i get it, i really do, cos i want it bad... but i haven't got my hopes up as i really have no idea what my chances are. i also have the pre-screening aut graduate journalism diploma test on wednesday this week, so i just do not know where i'm at right now and i kinda like it!!

and that's about all that's new in my life i think.
