Только что вернулись из Butterfly Valley. По пути видели круговую радугу в небе,
черепах Caretta Caretta и подводную лодку.
вид на долину и ущелье с места нашей стоянки.
( Нравы и быт аборигенов )
А вот как попадают в долину с суши - до сих пор непонятно.
Как сказал мой знакомый, Butterfly Valley? Butterfly and hippy sanctuary, that's it.

У местных вторую неделю идет Charter week - вдоль набережной гюлеты предлагают себя подороже, агенты пытаются получить их на сезон подешевле, а остальные турки непрерывно играют ритмичную стучаще-звенящую маршировальную музыку, под которую можно только что воевать, предварительно в усмерть укурившись.
гюлет, если кто не знает - это такой вариант местного судна.

Как известно, для того чтобы попасть к настоящему живоносному источнику нужно приехать в Стамбул, доехать на скоростном трамвае до остановки №21, пройти вниз под гору мимо стройки и пустыря с мусором, затем мимо гаражей по правую руку и кладбища по левую и, наконец, увидеть железные ворота в каменной стене.

Although the islands are technically uninhabited, in fact Salomon atoll has been inhabited by several unintentional castaways for some years. Pete and Tina (and Jess the cat) arrived here in their forty foot Harley designed ferrocement yacht Vespera a number of years ago. While here the ancor dragged in a squall, the engine wouldn't start, and the yacht went onto the coral and was sunk in the lagoon. The other yachts here rallied around and decided the yacht could be repaired. It was eventually raised but then needed to be refitted and the engine rebuilt. This all takes time and the couple become accepted as the involuntary castaways of Chagos. Yacts traveling to the island have brought spares and supplies out to the couple who seem to have dropped into the castaway mode without too much of a problem. However it appears that with the yacht pretty much ready to go that the castaways may be going to leave what has been their home for number of years.

This may sound horrible...but, if you have the power, the most effecient
window unit that will fit in the companionway... dont flame me - I had
one for a while. I had the canvas shop make a really cool carrier for
me. Looked sort of like those LLBean firewood collectors. It was green
sumbrella cut to the shape of the unit with a handle. Worked great, it
sat on a one inch urethane pad. I had to closed cell foam pads on the
sides to seal the edges. It worked better than great. Sure, it looked
white trash in the sceme of things, but heck, it got cold at night - so
cold one time that the ports would sweat.. When we would leave - I would
just pick it up in th ecool carrier and drop it in the lazerette.. Sure
beat a 6k or more installation of a unit. A Westerly down the way went
so far in his installation as to modify his acrilyic hatch board to fit
a unit - it looked so good you would think it was from the factory.

За полтора года, которые я здесь не был, в городе произошли большие изменения. Поленница за окном уменьшилась наполовину, жители желтого дома завели себе спутник, на поле выросла капуста, а в горах выпал снег.

I had a small tub attached to the engine and we
put cloths in it with soap and water and the engines vibration washed
the clothes, worked alright but was in the way to work on the engine so
we gave that up and used a couple of scrub boards and shared the job.

Когда-то в Санкт-Петербурге были люди, писавшие на стеклах в метро слово Ingrija. Примерно к 2000 году надписи исчезли.
На Канарах такие тоже есть.
