y tambien "En que puedo servirle?" -- Does that basically mean 'how can I help you?'  Can this be applied to a group of people, at a table for example?

Here's the deal:
I'm learning spanish, but I'm in the beginning stages.
I've studied it for about 4 weeks now.
I previously made a set of 120 homemade flash cards to help me remember verbs.
I'm really a noob.

I'm 37 years old and looking toward moving to Florida soon, where this language will come in handy a little as opposed to it just being a novel hobby for me.

What I'd like to do is: get someone here onto my friendslist so we can post each other a spanish sentence or two each day (time permitting, of course) so we can trade back and forth and critique/learn to both read and compose it as we go.

If a bunch of people reply to this post, I can only probably pick one person, but the good thing is you can just pair up if that happens anyway, so I figure it's a win-win, yeah?

Anybody up for it?

Bonjour tous le monde! I'm curious about whether others here like to read English novels in French translation. I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray in French at the moment. I love it, it's exquisite in the French language, so different from the English rhythm. I recommend it to anyone who likes Monsieur Wilde. Does anyone have a recommendation of English novels in translation or French novels in the original? I like Gide and Balzac. :)

What happened with this? The Road to Albion, it was called right? And it was supposed to be some kind of documentary, I think. I don't remember when I first heard of it, but since then there's been kind of silent. And I don't even remember what people were saying about it. Only now, when I found it in my favourites on my account at Youtube I remember how excited I got when I first saw it, and got very excited again, haha.

So, tell me what the whole project was about again, and what's happening with it now.

I am coming to paris to live in a bout a month. I have a job teaching English there, and I am really excited.

My biggest concern right now is houding. Honestly my job pays only about 750E a month after taxes, and the cost of housing in Paris (at least as far as I can tell from the internet) seems practically insurmountable. Is there any way to find cheap housing in Paris or even in the outer suburbs?

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

Información sobre la diferencia entre “healthcare” (lo siento, no sé el equivalante de esta palabra) en España y los Estados Unidos. La necesita para un ensayo. Vivo en los E.E.U.U pero fui a Madrid por un semestre, y era un voluntario en Gregorio Marañón Hospital, y me gusta mucho la experiencia pero solo tenía una ventana pequeña para entender “healthcare” en España y no quiero generalizar. Me gustaría saber información sobre las condiciones de las residencias para los ancianos. Fui una residencia, y me parece mucha más major que en los Estados Unidos. Más limpia, y menos deprimente. Muchas gracias, y lo siento por el español malo. Era más que un año desde mi semstre en Madrid.
