And I know I'm planning to see Hamlet when it comes to London... but at this very moment? I wish The Doctor and Martha had never inspired the old chap to write it. Especially not with quite so much damn rhetoric. I have Hamlet's rhetoric pouring out my ears, thanks to uni. Oh, and the histories. Yes, Henry IV, parts one and two. I am looking at you.
Weirdly enough, Hamlet (the play) brings out the middle-aged mother in me. First I want to smack the noble Prince of Denmark for being so unspeakably rude to his mum, and such a brat. And secondly, all I want to do is wrap Ophelia up in a warm blanket and give her some hugs, and a nice hot chocolate, and have a nice long bedtime chat. I swear if Horatio wasn't so gay, I'd push the two of them together.
Off to read about how the theatre provided a charged atmosphere condusive to lustful thoughts and promiscuous deeds. I've clearly been going to the wrong ones.
