that's funny, my mom decided on Granmoo when my daughter was born cuz there were too many grandpeople. it's from that movie Smoke Signals.

Granpoo reminds me of when I babysit this little girl who watches a the show Oobie where the characters are hands. The grandpa character is named Granpoo.

Panda, mama, and papa,
Thank you so much. I was feeling so bad about the whole x-mas thing. I just moved and started a new job so, I'm totally broke. My husband and I celebrate solstice with the kids already. We sat in our new livingroom and talked about all that we're grateful for, what we are ready to let go of, what we need to remember, what we have learned adn remember to never repeat. It was very healing and beautiful. My children were incredibly insightful. Then each of them opened a very small gift and we cuddled up and watched the sound of music. But, for some reason, even though we are not christian, on christmas hit me like a ton of bricks. I had nothing for them, no tree, no bing meal. It was just another day, unitl we got to the in-laws. It was uncomfortable and difficult. I cam home and cried a little, thinking that I had deprived my children of something. Was I supposed to lie to them and tell the about the old man that breaks into our home once a year or the boy with the miricle mom who gets no credit? I'm not sure but, after I cried I notice that they didn't miss out on anything and were playing and having fun with out a pile of brand new plastic crap. You post just solidified for me that we are not torturing or depriving our kids. Happy solstice and have a great new year.
right back at you buddy,
spacecommee

p.s. jesus is the star of the worlds greatest fairytale ever.... next to santa's story. <3

i think solstice is much more legitimate of a reason to celebrate. your kids have the most important thing ever...a badass mama that loves the shit out of them and teaches them what is beautiful and important in this world.

i did buy my nephew jaden the same ugly doll that dag has because it reminds me of the fun show at the back to back when i kept trying to throw it in the trash!

hug those kidlets for me.

i love you all.

did you move?

Yeah, we did move. Just to St. John's in North Portland though. Not far or anything. I also got a badass union job at TriMet the public trans. It's been a really amazing end of a difficult year. I think this solstice is really pivital for a lot of people. I just have to keep remembering that even though they can be very frightening, clean slates are a very good thing. Thanks Kimya, you have a gift of uplifting and inspiring words every single time you open your mouth. Really incredible.
