i have been to 3 appointments this week and i actually don't feel like talking about what happened at them. nothing to fret about. nothing too gruesome. me and the baby are fine. just a little yeast in the craw and some cooties in the pee. big whoop.

i went and hung out with carley and sydney today. sydney is one month old now and fucking cuuuute and grouchy and awesome. i held her for awhile so carley could eat and get some laundry done. it was my pleasure. oh man. i changed her twice. one pee and one poo.

guess what kind of diapers she wears.

yep. the very kind that i am totally obsessed with. and they are more lovable in person than they are in pictures.

so i did what i wasn't going to do (well, i know i know i made one specifically for my mom awhile back) and made a gift registry. it is only diapers and diaper related items. so everything is between $1 and $16.50. and it is cool because you can partially pay for something if you don't want to get a whole thing. you can buy us half a wipe. now those of you who complained about our wish list requiring creativity, but wanted to send the baby something, can experience the joy of giving. the sweet sweet joy of helping wrap our baby's ass in the finest fabrics.

yeast?! ever since i went swimming in lake erie on sunday i've had the itchies. i wonder if you can get yeast from lake erie. you're lucky your yeast just comes from normal pregnancy stuff and not contaminated dead fish from mentor headlands beach. anyways, the real point of this comment was to tell you about another use for that rattle mirror. whenever i get my hair cut the girl hands me a little mirror and then spins me around so that i can look in the little mirror at the back of my head reflecting in the big mirror behind me. you should check out the back of your head just for kicks.

between the two of us we could start a bread company.

i will use the mirror to look at the back of my future.

Hi, I love your music, and have been listening to the "ride bikes with you" song on youtube all day. But I am wondering what your reasons are for bringing another person into this world. I used one of your pictures when arguing for why Americans should refrain from breeding on my latest livejournal post. So it would be only fair to hear your side of the story.

interesting that you started screening comments and changed your post. i appreciate you changing it. i don't agree with your stance on pregnancy but i am sure we agree about other things and your closed mindedness and choosing me, of all people, to target fucking hurt. AT THE SAME TIME i wonder if you feel sorry for being mean or if you are just covering your ass.

Kimya,

It's okay if you don't live the life I live. And I like your music for its uniqueness, not for it conforming or not conforming to the punk rock style.

The other day a girl got up infront of this big crowd of punks at a show and sang a few songs in the style you do, softly sung and from the heart, except without any instruments, and it was beautiful.

So it reminded me of your music and that's why I was listening to your mp3s today.

I hear what you're saying about the Republicans outbreeding us and taking over the world, and not having our own kids doesn't help any. Is that what you were saying? Well, a lot of people I know on the Left are from right wing conservative families. So I'm not sure it works that way. Maybe I'm wrong though.

But if your kid turns out to be like you, then I think they will be awesome.

Yet, I'm still misanthropic. Sorry if I came off as a social retard.

The reason I started screening comments is because I got almost all derogatory statements and not a lot of inquiry as to where I'm coming from. So it didn't seem too productive of a conversation.

Also, as to your question about my volunteer work, I served free food to people for about a year and a half straight. As for kids, most of them drive me up the wall. And I wouldn't want to be around the me of 8 years old. I was a terror.

I don't want to make it sound like I'm in the scene either. I still don't know what anti-folk is. But as long as you're not anti-Woodie Guthrie then you're probably cool.

i don't really need to know what you do. my point was...i am sure there is more you CAN be doing. but you do what you find yourself able to do.

if you can't stand kids then choosing not to have them isn't much of a choice for you. i fucking LOVE kids from the deepest parts of my being.

i grew up in a daycare center (run by my parents in our home) where most of the kids had been rejected from everywhere else they had been taken. i have work with or been surrounded by kids my entire life. the whole 33 years.

and you are right, some kids from fucked up conservative families end up being lefties(usually because they feel repressed and controlle by their parents and they are breaking away from that), but i have met very few kids from good strong positive "radical" families who aren't confident and compassionate and kind people- regardless of who and what they freely choose to be.

i am not in the scene either. anti-folk is just a comunity of artist in new york who are friends. i don't even live there anymore. i write songs and i travel and i give and get a lot of hugs and hope i can help people feel loved and strong. that is it.

i am psyched as hell to be a mom. and to share all of the goodness of the world with my family. it's not all gloom and doom.
