So yesterday I woke up and I was super sick. My temperature was like 102.2 all day and my whole body was sore and flu-ey feeling. I took a bunch of vitamin c and homeopathic stuff...oscillococcinum for the yucks and arnica for the aches. I was back and forth between the bed and the bath all day. It was pretty much a nightmare. I drank a shitload of tea and drank a bunch of lemon ginger echinacea juice. I got lots of sleep. Today I feel mostly better. I ate two huge meals. The food tasted like rusty socks but I didn't feel like barfing out of my ass. Jill had to work today and Johan had some hippie shit for school so Elias came over to play at 8:30 this morning. Lucky for me he decided that he doesn't like me and was super clingy with Ange all day. It was cuuuute. Here's some pictures:

And at the end of the month I am excited to be a part of this event...
The Olympia Community Free School, Olympia's free classes and community learning space is sponsoring an awesome Family Event on September 30th at Olympia's Traditions Fair Trade Cafe.
Come hear Chris Mercogliano speak and read about his experience as long-time director and staffperson at the Albany Freeschool, the nation’s oldest independent, inner-city non-coercive school. His new book "How to Grow a School," has been lauded as, "The most soulful and authentic book about education since the writings of the radical critics of the 1960s, Holt, Kozol, Dennison, Kohl, and Herndon. . . . Mercogliano reminds us once again that true education is not a management technique but a human encounter."
The event will start at 5pm with a story-time read by members of the Olympia Theatre Project and kids songs by local musician Kimya Dawson.
Then, participate in a short "Envisioning Community Learning" workshop by the Olympia Free School staff and get information about education alternatives here in Olympia.
Please tell you friends and bring your family and money to donate to Chris' book tour. Sliding scale $5-$10! Kids free! No one turned away for lack of funds.
