it is our last night in beautiful barcelona. we fly back to geneva in the morning and charles will pick us up and drive us back to annecy. i played at l'auditori as a part of primavera festival on saturday. we came on thursday so we could say hi to herman dune. it was so good to see those boys. it has been a long time. at the festival we watched billy bragg, jonathan richman, and parts of the sets of shannon wright, the fall, blonde redhead, patti smith, and about 20 seconds of sonic youth. i listened, but didn't watch, smashing pumpkins. panda is in love with jonathan richman. she danced and clapped like crazy for his whole set. before and after he played he hung out with us in our dressing room and the rumors are true- he is pretty much one of the nicest humans ever.
i feel really inspired by billy bragg and patti smith. like it is possible to fight the power forever and not become jaded. good good stuff.
after my set i was trying to get a cinnamon roll on and security stopped us so i told everyone to meet me outside in front of the ferris wheel and we did the megahug out there. it was real nice.
on our day off we went to the zoo. it's a pretty sad little zoo but the monkeys and lemurs are amazing and you can get really close to the hippos.
today we went to the beach.
