i went to one of the passport offices early this morning and talked to a nice guy who told me i need my driver's license and birth certificate. i don't know if i mentioned before but on my way out here i left my license at an internet cafe in bozeman. they were supposed to send it to bedford hills, but they didn't and so now they are express mailing it to me in seattle. and my dad is going to express mail me my birth certificate. a pain in the ass, but it could be a lot worse. the promoter from chop suey called me yesterday and we talked for 45 minutes. i tried to express my anger and frustration and he tried to defend the integrity and honor of his staff. and as far as the hijinx at the gang gang dance show, he said that the story i heard was absolute bullshit and no one on his staff did anything wrong and the staff was physically assaulted by women who were clearly "high on something". he asked me to ask everyone to stop sending him hatemail about my wallet, and for me to set everyone straight about the gang gang dance thing. i told him i couldn't do that. i still don't know for sure what happened in either case. maybe later i will post what rachel had to say about that night. he told me i was maybe too trusting of people, leaving my wallet in the green room. i said that it was just while i played and there was a security guard outside the door. and he said that most bands get mad if security doesn't let their friends in. so they have security, but security just lets anyone in who says they are with the bands. hmmm. lame. then i got a message from kevin last night, who played in mt eerie, saying when he was going through his stuff to look for my wallet he realized one of his effects pedals is missing. for crap's sake. and my mom is in surgery RIGHT NOW.
so yeah, i am back on the schedule for ladyfest.

i just talked to my mom. so far so good. the pain is starting to come back but at least she made it through the operation okay. phew.
