1:40p - great misfortunes
so yesterday was the day off to drive from lansing to philly and i tricked david and surprised him with a trip to hittsville u.s.a. and the motown museum in detroit. it was amazing to be in that house and it the studio. then i drove from detroit to pittsburgh. the car started overheating in pittsburgh. when i opened the hood i noticed one of the radiator hoses had popped off. so i called AAA. but then a guy in a truck came by and told us that the electrical system was fine and the car would start once it cooled down. so when AAA came i just had them retighten the hose and show me how to start it while adding water. the we were able to get to a gas station and eat veggie wraps while the car cooled down and i won $5 on a $2 scratch ticket. then i talked to tarika on the phone and he walked me through the process of adding antifreeze and waiting for the bubbles in the enging to pop then adding more antifreeze, and filling the resevoir and all that. so now i know what to do if the car ever overheats again. it sounds simple but i just didn't know before. i think a lot of people don't know what to do. i almost let AAA tow me to some shop that probably would have said things were more complicated than they were and charged me up the butt. i have a little grease under my nails today and my car loves me more for the way i got all up in it's stuff. when you know your car on the inside it will change your relationship with your car. what a good feeling. (not that i love cars in general, BUT if you NEED one to make it possible for you to make the world a better place...love the shit out of that car)
