Tutorial Number 3
How to go from to .
Made in Photoshop 6, but more than likely able to use in any program.

Note: All of these layers go in order.

1. I started off with this picture. I resized, and cropped to a way that I liked it, then sharpened leaving me with this.

2. Duplicate the base, then go back to the original base and desaturate.

Your layers should look something like this now.

3. Now, set the duplicated, coloured layer to screen. You should end up with something like this.

4. Duplicate the base (should be desaturated), drag it to the top, and set it to Color Burn at 14%.

5. Duplicate the base once more, drag it to the top, and set it to Overlay at 69%.

6. Add a new layer, and fill it with #0F1229, and set to Exclusion at 100%.

7. Add a new layer. Use #D42F19 (Shown with white background to see) as a gradient, and make a tiny part of it in the upper left corner. Set it to Soft Light at 100%. Make sure that you erase everything that's covering up her face.

8. Add a new layer. Use #3A4B88 and #974B31 as a gradient. Set it to Lighten at 100%.
-

9. Add a new layer, and fill it with #292444. Set it to Soft Light at 100%.

10. Add a new layer, and fill it with #3B1673. Set it to Soft Light at 31%.

11. Duplicate the colored base. Set it to Screen at 30%.
-

12. Add one new layer, and fill it with #926086 Set it to Lighten at 39%.

Your layers should look something like this.

7. Add a new layer. Fill it with #000000 and set it to Soft Light at 45%.

A tutorial for this icon:

I used photoshop 6.0 to make this icon.

First you start off with This picture from DanRadcliffe.com

Second, resize the picture to 100x100. It's going to be a bit blurry, but that's okay. You should have something like this.

Next, duplicate the image, and desaturate. (Image>Adjust>Desaturate)

You should have something like this.

Now set that image at Exculsion at 25%. You should have something like this

Now add this colour (#0A2747), and set it at Exculsion 100%

Now add this colour (#D3C6A6) and set it at Multiply 100%.

Now add this gradient by crumblingwalls and set it to Multiply at 76%.

Now copy the base layer, and bring it up to the top, and set it at softlight at 100%.

Now add this gradient by crumblingwalls and set it to Multiply at 100%.

Now add this text (Only not with the black background, I only put it there so you could see it.) And set it at Normal at 28%.

So you should end up with something like this

I know that it isn't the greatest tutorial ever, but please bare in mind that it's my first one. I'd love to hear your comments on it. If anyone wants any more tutorials just comment, and I would be more than happy to make one for you.

Please give me suggestions or anything that you can think of!
