Tutorial Number 3
How to go from Image hosted by Photobucket.com to Image hosted by Photobucket.com.
Made in Photoshop 6, but more than likely able to use in any program.

Note: All of these layers go in order.

1. I started off with this picture. I resized, and cropped to a way that I liked it, then sharpened leaving me with this.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

2. Duplicate the base, then go back to the original base and desaturate. Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Your layers should look something like this now.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

3. Now, set the duplicated, coloured layer to screen. You should end up with something like this.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

4. Duplicate the base (should be desaturated), drag it to the top, and set it to Color Burn at 14%.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

5. Duplicate the base once more, drag it to the top, and set it to Overlay at 69%.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

6. Add a new layer, and fill it with #0F1229, and set to Exclusion at 100%.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com - Image hosted by Photobucket.com

7. Add a new layer. Use #D42F19 (Shown with white background to see) as a gradient, and make a tiny part of it in the upper left corner. Set it to Soft Light at 100%. Make sure that you erase everything that's covering up her face.

8. Add a new layer. Use #3A4B88 and #974B31 as a gradient. Set it to Lighten at 100%.

9. Add a new layer, and fill it with #292444. Set it to Soft Light at 100%.

10. Add a new layer, and fill it with #3B1673. Set it to Soft Light at 31%.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com - Image hosted by Photobucket.com

11. Duplicate the colored base. Set it to Screen at 30%.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com - Image hosted by Photobucket.com

12. Add one new layer, and fill it with #926086 Set it to Lighten at 39%.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com - Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Your layers should look something like this.

Great tut! I'm saving it--I can think of a lot of possibilities. In this, I changed a couple of the layers and their settings but kept the same colours, added some text and a couple of subtle texture brushes.

The font is called CAC Pinafore. You can find it from dafont.com. Let me know if you have any troubles finding it =)

Heh, this is pretty nifty. I made one but I adjusted the opacities because it looked a little too faded because of the picture I used...
