Can anybody recommend a good chiropractor in the Catonsville area? I'd be willing to go up into the city if there was somebody truly fabulous there, but there's so much medical stuff around here that there's got to be somebody I could go to closer to home. In fact, I know there is -- I checked my insurance's 'find a provider' website and found approximately eleventy billion chiropractors within six miles of me -- but I don't know anything about any of them. Does anybody have any words of wisdom?
(If it matters, I'm looking for somebody to provide an adjustment and hopefully identify what's causing my back issues, and if it's my desk chair like I think it is, to provide a written recommendation so I can make my company buy me a new one.)

I just moved to the area and I am trying to find someone that does green house-cleaning in the Alexandria area that can come to my home bi-weekly. I would prefer to work with a local business but any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I have a hankering for something I have only had in Williamsburg, if anyone has been to the Sno-to-Go there. Basically it's soft serve ice cream wrapped up in a sno-cone. disgusting, yes, but also delicious. Is there anyplace that sells that in this fair city of ours?

I x-posted this in the NOVA communities a few weeks ago, and have only one or two recommendations for family lawyers. I realize that it's money well-spent, but would like to choose where to spend it :).
I'm the female half of a couple getting married and residing in VA. We're crafting a prenuptial agreement and need a lawyer each.
We'd be interested in package or pre-set deals if they exist (or even info on what this cost you/similar experiences). Of course our priority would be experienced premarital legal counsel.
Thanks.

| Game Night Tonight |
[ Tuesday August 2008 11:03am ] |
dcgamenight is hosting a public game night tonight, August 19, at Mayorga Lounge in Columbia Heights starting around 6:30. Everyone is encouraged to come and play games, including some new games. If you want, feel free to bring your own games, and there will be plenty of games there. We're a real easygoing group, so don't be scared. Just look for the big yellow Connect 4 board, or the group of people playing games. That's us. We may move upstairs, but we will probably be on the first floor. If you're interested in coming, just show up.
Game Night and the Case of the Missing Dice Facebook Event Tuesday, August 19th 6:30PM Mayorga Lounge 3301 14th St NW Washington, DC Closest Metro: Columbia Heights (.1 mile) Yelp Reviews
We have a whole bunch of other game nights scheduled in the next couple weeks, and you can check out the full rundown. If you can't make tonight's, you can always vote in the poll for the next one.
And of course, you are always welcome to join dcgamenight. We also have a facebook group so join either of those (or both) to be kept in the loop about when and where we are playing.
Hope to see everyone there.

| Hi There |
[ Monday August 2008 9:19pm ] |
Hi Guys, I just moved here to DC from Australia a couple of weeks ago, and I'm desperately after some local knowledge about shopping centres etc within walking distance to metro stations. Could you tell me where your favourites are? In particular places that have stores that sell evening dresses maybe (I have a big embassy ball coming up!)
Thanks so much for your help in advance.

We couldn't be happier that this message is greeted with such positive energy. We are putting out a call for donations, to offset the cost of the stickers. Everyone who donates will receive a sticker pack as a 'thank you.' Only donate if you can, even 5 or 10 dollars will really help out. http://you-are-beautiful.com/Donate.html Every sticker will be given away, and mailed to individuals around the world.
Also, for those of you in Chicago...Swing by the MCA this Friday for the Printers Ball, we'll (along with many other great organizations) be handing out stickers and posters free of charge. http://you-are-beautiful.com/NEWS.htm

| Anyone in North Georgetown/Glover Park? |
[ Monday August 2008 12:52pm ] |
Anybody near Wisconsin and Tunlaw hear gunshots last night around midnight?
I wasn't entirely sure if it was that or a motorbike backfire, but when I went to the Safeway this morning, there were Police SUVs and an unmarked brown van parked outside the Russian Embassy.
That's as much as I know. I can't find anything on the news sites, so maybe it was nothing after all. Just curious as to whether anyone else heard the same.

| Possibly a weird request |
[ Monday August 2008 12:28pm ] |

Where can I buy smallish drawstring cloth bags? They need to be larger than a ring bag, closer to maybe two grapefruits? I went to a Michaels and a Target, and found nothing. I did find ditty bags at REI, but not only are they larger than I would like, but they are also nylon, and a bit translucent. I just some cloth bags to hold things that are opaque, and don't involve me selling kidneys. Any ideas where I can find some?
