Things: -'Twin' does not equal 'double' in terms of bedsheets. -For those of you wondering how my film class is going, listen to this assignment: "Write a one-page description of your film as if it were a city...Imagine that your viewer has just arrived to the city of your film and you hand them a map that would allow them to navigate in such a way as to understand the city as you know it...In fact, how much time someone stands before a particular site on their navigation of your city could be an indication of the duration of such an event in your film." Mmkay. -I am thoroughly enjoying my drawing class. -Crew is hard. It's harder to come back than I thought it would be. Running shape is definitely different from rowing shape. Water polo was fun this morning, though, as was dodgeball last week. Saturday is game day! -I'm excited to watch Jules et Jim. I say the best inspiration for making movies is watching them. I thought I had more to say, but I guess not. My t-shirt is itchy. <3

So after spending a fun-filled night with Dana last Thursday, I left early the next morning and got to Ithaca on Friday afternoon. It's always a bit of a shock to go from fairly warmer temperatures to scraping snow and ice off my car, but what can ya do? I'll tell you what I did. I went skiing with Julie on Saturday, and it was highly enjoyable. I only fell once when I was actually skiing. The other two times, I was at the top of the bunny hill, and I just sort of lost my balance and fell over. It's definitely something I can see myself doing more in the future. I especially would like to make my dad proud, because when I told him I was going, he said, "Skiing is the best sport ever invented by man."
In other news, I had my thesis film class today, and they threw a lot of due dates and assignments at us, and it makes me nervous. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened had I chosen a different career - something more concrete, like a doctor. I probably wouldn't be sitting in class watching a 10-minute shot of an Aquafina bottle with scrolling text, thinking to myself that I'm not creative enough. I feel like so many little things have to sort of align themselves in order for my film to work this semester, and none of it is really in my control, which is fine, but also overwhelming. Anyways...enough of my rambling. I think I need to go to Walmart. Holla.

A few things (that's right, I said it!): -Many people I hang out with are long gone, so I suspect these next 10 days or so will be kind of lonely. -I played basketball with Taylor earlier. Yes, I used my height to an obvious advantage. Yes, I waved my arms around like a monkey in order to distract her. No, I did not win. -I went to Anna's to watch a movie, but first she showed me her pictures from China. She said that 20 million people live in Shanghai. I asked her if she met the Lady from Shanghai, and she said no. -Kenneth is mailing me a t-shirt that says "Oregon Ducks", and I'm excited about that. -I am addicted to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. -Go Buckeyes! Tomorrow! I will now conclude my post in the manner of Manos: The Hands of Fate.
The End?

Things: -As Laura mentioned, Crimmus was pretty nice. She got me a t-shirt that says, "My baby got stole...by a bear holding a shark!!" -I sent my iPod away last week to get a new battery. I'm a little lost without it, I'm not gonna lie. -My dad is putting a basketball hoop together in the garage, and I am pretty excited about that. -Kenneth came over a few days ago, and we all watched Space Mutiny, and it was awesome ("I'm insaaaane!"). Hopefully the next movie will be Parts: The Clonus Horror or Quest of the Delta Knights. -I don't really have anything else to say, except that "I'm sure it's just a weather balloon or a foreign exchange student. These strange beasts just aren't real!" Peace out for now.

Well, I made it home. I have some pictures from my last week in L.A. KT Tunstall was fantastic. I don't have pictures of her, though. I'm not terribly sad about leaving the city, but there are people I miss. I keep expecting to hear Katie's alarm clock in the morning. Anyways, I'm tired. On with the chlorophyll!

Quickie update! -My mom is coming in a week! And she bought us tickets to see KT Tunstall at the Key Club in West Hollywood, wheee! -I'm so, so anxious to stop working. I can't even tell you. I don't think I'm ready to be all about the job. Speaking of the job, I've been waiting all day for these punks to call me back. I'm not a secretary! -It drops to the 50s at night now, and we all complain that it's freezing. What will I do when I get back to Ithaca? :P -The half-marathon is this weekend! Fortunately I will be joined by some good friends, and we're making shirts. :) The time to beat is 2 hrs. 13 minutes.
That's all for now. Last chance for anyone to ask for something Hollywood-ish that I can bring home for you! You know you want one of those Hollywood sign snow globes. ;)

I should be working on a few papers, but I've decided to update instead, because it's been a while. These past few weeks have been a little crazy. There was Halloween on Santa Monica Boulevard, for starters. The weekend after that we went to Laguna Beach again (same old, same old :P). Then there was the Oakwood semi-formal, complete with a chocolate fountain. And finally, last weekend we went "camping" on Big Bear Mountain. It may have been the longest weekend of my life. I have pictures.
In other news, I don't really have a lot of time off this week. It kind of sucks, because I feel like I need some down time to just chill and finish these papers and maybe do laundry. I officially finished my required 360 internship hours, but I'll still be working up until finals, I guess. It's not that L.A. hasn't been amazing, because it has. I'm just ready to go home. You know how it goes. I guess that's all for now. Go Buckeyes!

More bullet points! -Disneyland was fun! I wish I had some good pictures, but my camera disappointed me. 'Indiana Jones' is my favorite ride. -Tostitos with a "Hint of Lime" are pretty gross. -I have decided to run the City of Angels Half-Marathon on December 3. -My roommate's boyfriend is here, and he's the third of four visitors for her. My other roommate's mother is here. I wish someone could visit me. :( -Center Stage is one of those movies I can just sit and watch whenever it comes on TV. Not much else has been going on. Next weekend promises to be more interesting, although I enjoy a lazy day now and then. Peace out for now. ;)

Happy Birthday to meeee! -Tonight we had a little party, also known as the Bowling Extravaganza of 2006.
What does this say? Six gutterballs in a row is what it says. Yeah. You wish you had my skills. -Shopping this weekend? I think yes. -Cingular=haaaate. Until I get things straightened out, no one can leave me any voicemails. -Dodgers game on Friday! -I encourage everyone to rent Logan's Run. "Fish, plankton, sea greens...protein from the sea!" Time for bed. Thanks for the birthday messages! :)

Things: -Laguna Beach last weekend! Nice area. Big houses. Dumb show. -My roommate saw Coolio at a club the other night ("Coolioolio! The whole bunch!"). -I've had a cold, or maybe the flu, or maybe a sinus thing. Now I'm convalescing. -I got to be in another movie on Thursday. It's just my shoulder in the shot, actually, but I'm thinking about getting an agent. Just kidding. The movie is called 'The Dukes'. -So, grocery stores have those labels on each aisle, like "Pasta" and "Cereal" and whatnot. Maritza and I saw one yesterday that said, "Frozen Hispanic" and thought it was pretty great. Unfortunately, we didn't have a coupon. -Not much else going on. Roll Tide! :)

I'm tiiiirrred...but here are some pictures from today.
In other news, I got to be a body double on Thursday for the lead actress in a movie called Fingerprints. There's this scene where she falls backwards into a grave, and the director needed a quick shot from behind of her falling. So he asked me to put on her clothes, and we shot it in his front yard. It was fun. Anyways...that's all. Have a pleasant evening. ;)

I am in Los Angeles.
I think I've mentioned Ithaca's L.A. program already. Basically, I lucked out, because my cousin runs a lighting company, and he is letting me intern for him. I even get paid for the days I work on sets! Most of the time I hang out with Maritza (my cousin's fiance). She curses like a sailor, but she knows her stuff and tells it like it is. Plus she's super nice and buys me lunch. She wants to direct also, so I feel like I can learn a lot from her. She has also provided me with a variety of other useful expressions, like, "She talks out of the side of her neck, you know?" and "The proof is in the pudding." I'm having a good time so far. I'm within maybe a 2-mile radius of the WB lot and Lauren Graham, so all is well. :)

So the wedding was mucho fun, but it was hands-down the worst flying experience I've had. Curse you, Delta! My flight from Atlanta to Erie got cancelled, so they put me on a flight to Buffalo. Fortunately, an old friend of the groom was driving through Buffalo and picked me up. But then they didn't have my bag. You know, the one with all my clothes. On the 90-minute drive to Erie, we hit major construction and got stopped by a train. I was taken straight to the church with no time to shower, minutes before the ceremony started. I wore jeans and a t-shirt to the reception. No pictures. Today I sat in the Atlanta airport for 4 hours because my flight to Huntsville was delayed. But then I thought I had finally caught a break, because they gave me a seat next to a boy who was tall and pretty and a runner. Too bad he's a senior at Grissom, and I swore off the younger men. He did share his jelly beans with me, though. Not like that. I know what you were thinking.
I feel like I've been gone for a week. No more flying.

-No news yet on the internship(s). It makes me nervous. Eight days!! -Yesterday I took Payton to the Botanical Garden. I gave her a bunch of pennies to throw into the wishing well, and I asked, "What did you wish for?" She said, "My mommy." Then I bought her a stuffed animal. -Michelle and I watched some X-Files while I was in Tuscaloosa, and if anyone hasn't gone here to read recaps of popular TV shows, you should, because they're HI-larious. Here's a nice tidbit: "Oh, sweet, Season Five Scully. With all the caring about proof and no crying or farming out psychokinetic babies to strangers. These were, indeed, the days. 'Plus, look at my hair and makeup. I look hot,' the Scully action figure comments from her makeshift bowl of ice water/swimming pool. We don't know where the Mulder is. We just found a note that said, 'Sasquatch sighting in bathroom. See you later.' I didn't have the heart to go in there and tell him that the Sasquatch was actually just a ball of hair I pulled out of my brush." -Wedding on Friday in Erie, PA! Maybe pictures. -"Look at how funky he is!" Oh man, that movie always cracks me up. That is all.

Update shmupdate. -Babysitting this past week has prompted me to ask a few questions. For example, how does Aladdin know that the magic carpet is a 'he'? Why is Little Bear the only one who doesn't wear clothes? When Gaston proposes to Belle in her house, why does she have no reflection in the mirror? Is she really a vampire? These are the important questions, people. -Here's another question: Why has Lauren Graham been snubbed by the Emmys yet again? :( -Oh, Zidane...I still think he's the best! Mais oui. -I've started faxing my resume to production companies in L.A., which means the internship is actually happening soon. Ack! -I've come to the realization that my mom will probably never understand me and movies. I mean, I try to get her to watch the ones that I like, but she either falls asleep or complains. At first I think maybe it could be a little bonding experience, but I just end up feeling insulted. These movies are the reasons that I want to do what I want to do. I know different people have different tastes, but I was hoping she would maybe appreciate something that I'm interested in. No such luck. No more movies with her. She didn't even like Main Hoon Na! It hurts my soul. :( The end.

sorry, I'm only human you know me grown up, oh no, guess again my days always dry up and blow away sometimes I could do that, too but make no mistake that
when you need a friend you could count on anyone but you know I'll defend the tragedy that we knew as the end
progress, changing growing, then giving up somehow we're never quite prepared but I understand it
so taking you with me would be like taking all your money to the grave it does no good to anyone, especially the one you're trying to save but it's so hard not to save

Mid-sized update (better handling and reliability!): - I miss creeewwww!!! I got the season recap booklet from Becky in the mail the other day. :( I also got 6 pages of stability ball workouts and an e-mail about Concept II's Summer Solstice Row on Wednesday. 21,097 meters in one session? Count me in! - I feel like my mom is paying me to be a bum and take the kids swimming. Someone recommend more books for me to read while they're playing! - I like this quote: "It may be a common religion, common studies, a common profession, even a common recreation. All who share it will be our companions; but one or two or three who share something more will be our Friends. In this kind of love, as Emerson said, Do you love me? means Do you see the same truth? - Or at least, 'Do you care about the same truth?' The man who agrees with us that some question, little regarded by others, is of great importance can be our Friend. He need not agree with us about the answer." - C.S. Lewis - I am frustrated because I let things get to me. If someone else doesn't care about something, then why should I? Except I do care. A lot. Clearly it's me with the problem, and I suck. That's all I have to say about that. - I'll end on a good note. New pants!
