10:01AM - Valentines...
Pip and I don't celebrate valetines.
We actually love each other every day and show it every day...
It's not uncommon for one of us to go awww I love you can I take you out to dinner?
Or " let go out to dinner" and go dutch or being home a lil something or other just because you wanted to make the other happy. (this is often V hehehe)
BUT apparently Pip has been wanting to do something really nice for me for ages and his chance coincided with valentines weekend.
My sweetheart of a fiancé (cough) has bought me Category 1 tickets to this:
The Cherry Orchard
Saturday 4 April 8.00pm
Sunday 5 April 1.00pm & 7.00pm
ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre
THE EDGE® International Arts Season and Bank of America present
FROM LONDON AND NEW YORK WITH A
STUNNING INTERNATIONAL ENSEMBLE CAST
THE CHERRY ORCHARD
Produced by Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), The Old Vic and Neal Street Productions
By Anton Chekhov
A new version of the play by Tom Stoppard
Directed by Sam Mendes, the first production by this phenomenal ensemble cast is Tony Award-winner Tom Stoppard’s stunning new adaptation of The Cherry Orchard, Chekhov’s daring meditation on bourgeois materialism and what remains in its wake.
After five years abroad Madame Ranevskya returns home as her family estate and much loved cherry orchard is about to be sold to pay for her family’s mounting debts. Unable to comprehend that the world around them is changing forever, the family ignore all offers of help and continue to indulge in their extravagant lifestyle.
“Your grandfather, and his father, and all your family going back, they owned living souls. The dead are looking at you and whispering to you from every tree in the cherry orchard, every leaf and every branch.”
Trofimov to Anya, Act 3
The Cherry Orchard captures the emotional turmoil of a family’s fading grandeur, whose pride has left them unable to adapt to the new world. This popular Chekhov play, skilfully revised by Tom Stoppard, remains as insightful today as when it was written.
I'm so so excited! Ethan Hawke! Holy :D The only other theatre play type thing I have been to was a Guilbert and Sullivan musical 10 years or so ago, and I loved that :)
Thank you my future husband you did good, very very good :) :)

I cannot put into words how awesome it feels to have a proper camera again. I didn't realise how much I missed it. And this time a proper DSLR! YES!
On the not so plus side of life... Bart got a booboo on Wednesday..
Caught his freelines on a concrete lip(for easy explanation) and hit the ground.
We were going to Le Grand Circus at 6:30 so he and Pip were meeting at my work ... 5:04pm I get a text "I think I need a medic"
Thought it was a joke! Haha MEDIC!
Next text was "came off skates quite hard. can't see straight"
Errr... instant phone call " you ok???" "I don't feel so good"
Crap! I head down the driveway thinking I'd find him with a bump on his head and maybe a concussion... yeahhh not so much. Uhh Bart we need to take you to the A & E...holy shit dude...
9 stitches later...
Photos over at facebook for those interested.
I so never want to see the inside of Bart's head again! Freaky freaky freaky.
And yet we still went to the circus ! Just 20 mins late...
It was really good! More of an aerobatics show than a circus if you ask me but still awesome :D

10:50AM - oh yeah the photo!
Thank you all for your congrats :)
We were in Dunedin for our friends wedding, a whole weekend of hectic dashing about and rushing to and from things, a few things going wrong with various things (shh) but getting fixed at the last minute (phew!). Pip was best man you see...I was moral support as he doesn't like standing up in front of crowds, calm keeper for the things going wrong and I was also the sound girl and usher.
The night before the wedding, lying in the hotel room, finally having a breather and a cuddle knowing everything was on track for it again and he just turned to me and said
"You know i really love you" Aww honey I love you too...
"I want you to be my wife" (BOOM jaw drop) what?
"I couldn't imagine life without you, I really do want you to be my wife"
Followed by a gorgeous speech of which i'm not sharing all but the basic idea of it was how lucky he was to have someone as gorgeous and wonderful as me and that he knows he wants to be with me forever. How even when he's tired and sick of people and needs a breather, being with me is just like another part of himself and that every day wouldn't be the same without me... and so on and so more that was just wonderful and showed me so clearly he loved me, couldn't be without me and was ready for this :)
It may not have been a fancy planning thing but the sudden realisation and outpouring of love was perfect. And when he realises / decides soemthing he doesn't do it by halves, he wanted to elope 2 days later he was so eager for me to be his wife! However family and friends would probably have killed us :P
We did talk about him getting the ring and 'surprising' me with a "planned engagement whizz bang" asking but what he said and how he said it that night was so gorgeous anything else would just seem fake and hokey and wouldn't match up.
So there we have it! Engaged 15th Dec, in a hotel room in dunedin on the eve of our friends wedding - no ring - no planning just BOOM! :)
Well I certainly had no idea it was coming which just added to it being awesome :D
First weekend back to auckland we went ring shopping together - it was my rule I got to pick my ring because as all you close friends out there know... i'm just a tad fussy (shut up) and if i have to wear it for the rest of my life I want to love it :P Luckily for me halfway through ring shopping Pip realised how many ring choices there are and oh man was he glad we were doing it together. Yay!
So we narrowed it down to two choices, one I liked and one he liked... doh. Last shop to look in wasn't a chain shop (I really didnt want a michael hill ring no offense to those who have one) and it made off one rings and with the help of their jeweller they designed them themselves...
And they were relocating so had a sale on and not much stock...except for the most important stock! My ring :D
18ct white gold, 7 diamonds, G-H Colour, SI1, brilliance cut , channel set, crazy price (freaks me out a little to be wearing it out). Now we both liked princess cut however brilliance cut (round) is the optimal for a diamond to get the best sparkle out of it hmmm so this perfect ring which at first looked princess cut was actually round cut in a square setting... round peg in square hole? ooo haha love it, best of both worlds! Looks square with the advantages of round :D The setting is one main diamond with 3 on each shoulder and the main diamond is channel set with a 'peep' cutout around the bottom so you can see the tip of the diamond - super cool.
Just under a carat total weight.
Both of us pretty much loved it straight away - and it helped it was on special down a grand or so in price and it came with a full value valuation. AND it's a one of a kind. Well it's not exactly a unique design style but there aren't 20 other shops with 200each of them floating around.
Oh and for those who think a weekend is very little shopping time for a ring? Please, i've been ring shopping for at least 2 years it's just now that i've had the go ahead to get one! :P Also its stunning on :D
I am happy :) My man finally well and truely clicked, he has no fears or regrets and cannot wait to get married and be husband and wife, I have an amazing ring that I could swap for a car with ease (lol) and will still love in 50years time and this year when we celebrate our 5 year anniversary I know from his engagement speech he's mine and I'm his and we both know it !
Next step? Saving for our OE together! (Which could also be our honeymoon!)

Pip took me out for dinner n a movie. Saw In The Brughes. O man great movie! I can't really say what genre it is... but it has some funny moments, some jump argh look away moments and some fairly decent acting.
It's the story line and script that is really good. And wow Colin Farrel actually does a good job! Fancy that.
So yeah go see it :)
Oh and the ending is such a good 'non typical' sort of 'wrap it up' type ending. Ok that read confusing didn't it ?
I wont clarify it any more else I might give away some ending. In short. Watch it!

10:11AM - Wedding song
Would it be bad to have the Portal song as a wedding song ? har har :D Anyone got some good geek/nerd songs as ideas for wedding songs ? :D
This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa
THAT WAS A JOKE.
HAHA. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking
when there's Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me glad I'm not you.
I've experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are still alive.
And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing Science and I'm still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're dead I will be still alive.

6:34PM - My Speakers!
And they are put on the desk all tidy like. I like tidy.
Don't you hate it when you see a cool job...i only you had of done scenario a) instead of b) ?
my head has hurt/stuffy all day.
3:35PM - Let there be... MUSIC!!
Ok so i wanted to watch a movie on the weekend and my wee laptop/internal speakers just couldn't handle the jandle...so quiet!
So, seeing as Pip was away and his room mostly still packed.. i snuck into his room and fiefed his logitech x-530's his brother got him for his birthday...w00pw00p
This has resulted in me purchasing some X-230's later on today, Pip is ever so kindly picking them up for me. The 2.1's rather than his 5.1's because i don't need surround sound and I am only using 2.1 of his 5.1 set anyway...
ahhh I had forgotten what bass sounded like and oh man how have I gone this long with just laptop speakers and no loud music?
Music is meant to be enjoyed LOUD.sheesh.
Of course I just wont mention that i'm currently listening to Santa Baby the Xmas song.. ahem.
But anyway. YAY Louds!
I would also like to comment on how much I missed my desk in the last 4 months or so. The portability of laptops is all grand and what not but there is definitely something to be said for sitting at a desk.
