9:29 am - "Louis, The Reluctant Vampire"

Here is a doll that I created a couple months ago. He is based on Louis from Interview With The Vampire. He has been sold and now resides in Florida. :-)
Louis started out as a beach Ken doll. I removed all of the original hair and makeup, then rerooted his hair and repainted his face. All of his clothing was designed and hand sewn by me. Below are his pics from start to finish. Beware of my lacking photography skills! :-)

8:33 am - It has been a while!

Hello to all my friends. I hope that you guys are still around here. It has been so long since I have last posted here. I have been busy with work, personal and family stuff, but all of that has eased up and free'd my time some what. I have also been busy with my OOAK doll hobby. I am going to use this site and my space for the ramblings and pics of my creations. I finished "Louis" a couple of months ago and I'm working on completeing "Midnyte" at the moment. I will be posting pics of them shortly. Great to be back and hope to hear from you guys!

Well, another long day. I have to work 10 hrs today and it really sucks.
I was off yesterday, but I had so much of everyday stuff to do like house work, paying bills and buying groceries that my whole day was gone before I even knew it. Blah, work sucks!! :-/

I know, I know! It sounds silly to some, but I so love this band and the lead singer...:-D
I hope to get some pics after the concert and I'll post them here.
Well, nothing much going on lately other than work! work! work! and some very hot and humid miserable long days... I'm so looking forward to the cool crisp Fall!
My new kitten, Dobby, is doing much better. She has a doctors appointment today and hopefully he will give me the ok to put her in with my other cats. I have been keeping them separated until I'm sure that she is free of everything that could cause harm to my others. That has been a task in its self, but very much worth it as I really love helping stray needy animals.
I hope to be writing more soon... until then, here is why I am so bubbly! :-D

Ok, back to reality... ;-)
I have been so busy lately getting things ready for my fall classes and doing some much needed house work. I have been painting the railings on my outside deck. It is very tedious to paint the small pickets and it has been extremely hot here as well. I have made many trips to the pool after being in the hot sun.
My niece and nephew have come to spend some time with me before school starts back and it is fun having them around. We have been staying up till the wee hours of the mornings. Last night my nephew wanted a new hair style so I cut his hair and made him a mini hawk. It looks great too! I didn't have any "spiking gel" as I do not spike my hair, so we will go get some today and I'll try to get some pics of him.
He is in a band and can play nearly every Chevelle song, so his payment for cutting his hair was to play my fav Chevelle songs...:-D
I also have a new edition to my cat family that has been taking up a great deal of my time. She is not healthy right now so I have to keep her away from my other cats for a couple of weeks. She was found last week and I have been caring for her. She was dehydrated from the heat and was not in very healthy condition. Her skin was irritated with ring worm and fleas and she lost much of her hair. Her tail is broken and she had ear mites that were bothering her ears also. She is doing much better now but still has along way to go. I named her "Dobby" from the Harry Potter movie, because she looks a lot like little Dobby right now...LOL :-D
Anyway, here are some pics of her. She is in my junky garage so overlook the mess... I'll update with more pics as she continues to progress...:-)

6:50 am - Ramblings...

Well, it's been a while since I've updated. I've been busy getting things in order for my Fall semester, which is just around the corner. I also had my niece, Jessi, staying with me. She left this past Wednesday...:-(
I really enjoyed her company. She is so funny and had me laughing and having fun the whole time. I felt like I was 18 again! ...:-D
We went to an art museum, did alot of shopping and got our tickets for the Chevelle concert. Oh and I found a VH Bride T-shirt at Hot Topic on sale for $9.00, so I just had to buy it...;-)
We also made ourselves really cool belts for the upcoming concert. We bought studded belts and removed the studs to spell out "chevelle". It was quite tedious and time consuming, but they turned out awesome. I'll have to post some pics of them.
And finally, we watched many "chick flicks": Mean Girls, A Walk To Remember, and The Notebook...
"Mean Girls" was so damn funny, I loved it, and "The Notebook" was a wonderful movie but so very sad!. I haven't cried so hard since Willard(my black lab) died...
However, Jessi found my obsession with Goth, Vampires and VH a bit disturbing... LOL, So she helped me to create a xanga site for my other obsession, Pete Loeffler. It's all "bright and cheery", celebrating my love for Pete! You can find it at: Italiano_Barbie ...It's all things Pete! ;-)
( "Italiano_Barbie" is Jessi's nickname for me, she says I look like an Italian barbie...LOL, but I think not...:-D )
Anyway, I had a wonderful couple weeks with Jess and really hated to see her leave. Now it's back to work and getting things together for my upcoming classes.

and none ever new that I was gone...;-)
Sorry that I did not have time to announce I was leaving but, I had a family emergency to come up and quickly had to be out of town for a couple of days. I returned home yesterday and I'm happy to be back now.
Also, my niece is going to be staying with me for a couple of weeks before she goes away to college. She is real "artsy" and studies English/Journalism. (She has already made grammar edits in my fanfics... LOL!)
I will be enjoying time with her. We plan to spend some days on the beach and doing some shopping. Today, we will go and pick up our tickets to the Chevelle concert...YAY!, hit Hot Topic and have lunch at The Olive Garden.
I finally received the last Richard Roxburgh movies that I ordered, "Passion" and "Doing Time For Patsy Cline". I started to watch the beginning of Passion and it looks to be a very good movie. I very much look forward to watching this one. Well, as I do all of his movies...:-)
Watch out Adrian and Clive, Richard is very quickly taking your places as my fav actor! :-D
Not sure how I will be able to watch "Doing Time..." due to the region code...:-(
...Oh well, I'll figure out someway!

Well, nothing very exciting has been going on with me. I've added lots of work hours to myself, so I haven't been around here too much.
Some good news is my Rudy cat is much better and back to his old self again...He is back to being bossy and worrying my other cats...:-D
All thats left from that "drama" is a large vet bill...*laughs* rather than cry about it.
This week I am going to *make myself* put up some of my fanfic writings that I have been to lazy to do. I don't know why, but I get a little nervous about doing so. I guess I am worried that people who read them will think that they are silly and stupid or that I don't write well... Ack! Probably not even a good time to do such, as I'm kind of in a down mood lately and my self confidence is at an all time low. I hate when I am like this... :-(
Oh yeah, I watched "Cold Case" last night, and though it was the best one I have seen yet, it really did not help my mood much at all. A very sad episode!

Ahh, something positive has finally come my way after a couple of crappy weeks. The postman just delivered my Richard Roxburgh movies I ordered last week. I'm still waiting on two of them, but these three should keep me pretty occupied. I just have to figure out how to hack my WinDVD to play multi region dvd's for the other two.
I don't have to work today or tomorrow, so I can rest up, watch my movies and enjoy myself a little. I'm going to go visit my Mom and Dad late this afternoon. Other than that, I intend on staying indoors as it has become hot and humid here, now that all the rain has ended.
I bought my Mom some flowers for helping me with Rudy over the weekend. My b-friend was supposed to help me, but I really can't depend on him for anything...
While I was away in Charleston, he went plundering around on my computer and found some slashy fanfics that I've been working on and some slash pics that I had saved on my pc. He was all pissy acting about it when I returned home and I was in no mood for it, so I told him to grow up and stop being so homophobic, and furthermore to stop nosing around in my personal stuff... Needless to say he got really mad at me and left, which is fine with me because I am worried enough and was in no mood for him.
He really is so childish at times and I think he is even jealous over my cats... For real! :-D
lol...I know this sounds really bad on my part but, if he wasn't so financially supportive, I would simply kick his ass to the curb!

9:55 am - Rudy
|
Well, this time last week my Rudy fell ill and still is. They did manage to unblock his bladder. He was supposed to stay at the vet hospital until that Friday, but the doctor called me and said that I should come get him because he was getting depressed and not eating. Because he is overweight, this could be very dangerous on top of everything else that was wrong with him. She knew that I could watch him closely as I used to work as a vet tech. Well, when I bought him home the first thing he did was go to his food dish to eat, and he was going to his litter box... all was going well but later that afternoon, he seemed to be blocked again and still in much pain, so I called the the doctor and she wanted to see him again. She checked him and found his bladder had become hardened and extremely painful and recommended that he be taken to a specialist. I ended up having to take him to a specialist in Charleston, SC. It's about 125 miles from where I live, so I spent Thurs and Friday there, returning on Saturday morning with him. They had to go in and do surgery on him. He is doing much better but is still in alot of pain and discomfort. I have to monitor him very closely. My Mom came and sat with him Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday while I caught up with my salon appointments. I am so glad and lucky to have understanding clients and also a Mom who loves animals as I do...:-).
Rudy is slightly starting to become his old self again. He wanted to get in my lap when I got on the computer this morning. He always lays in my lap while I'm on my computer and watches me type everything on here... So, I guess you could say that he knows my "journal friends" too...lol :-D
Anyway, it is such a relief to see him getting better. I really thought he was going to die Wednesday and it caused me to feel sick to my stomach all day. Rudy is like a little person to me and I love him as if he were my child... I know all of this may sound silly to anyone who is not an animal person, but thats just how I am! ;-)
Here is some baby pics I found of him and his brothers. This was taken about two weeks after I found them. The middle kitten died, he was too sick to recover I guess. Rudy is on the left and Puff is on the right. They were so cute... and still are! :-)

8:50 am - Nothing much here...

Still alive here... Just hasn't been much going on with me. I've been busy lately and as if that wasn't enough, I caught a bad cold over the weekend. I'm still feeling really bad and will not go into work today. I work with the public so I don't need to be there spreading my sick germs around...lol
Today is my fathers birthday and I really should go and visit him. He is 68 years old. I will telephone him shortly and visit him this afternoon to take him a gift.
We had the most beautiful thunderstorm here yesterday afternoon. The front of my home is almost entirely glass windows and I sat in front of them watching the wind blow the rain across the waterway... It was really quite amazing to watch... It lasted for about an hour and I really enjoyed it. Oh, and the full moon has been absolutely wonderful. Strange I know, but I love sitting out at night on the balcony under the moon. It is very peaceful to me.
My niece graduates tomorrow night and I hope that I will feel well enough to attend.
I will have some "dreaded company" over the weekend and I'm not too happy about it. Oh well, I will just have to grin and bear it I guess... :-)
