Ok, so I'm setting up this blog as a way to let people know how I am and what I'm doing as I seem to be otherwise incapable of keeping in touch with people. Ah... ok. The first couple of entries will probably be fairly shaky as I get used to this.
Today is columbus day or some shit in america, so I don't have classes. This weekend I'd intended to get some work done but I great confluence of events has led to me twiddling my thumbs, angrily staring down news pages and listening to bob dylan protest songs on repeat and mournfully wondering how it got so fucked up. My computers gpu fan died had to jump through hoops to find a replacement, and when I did I discovered the thing had to be 'stuck' on with non-heat-conductive adhesive, got my hands on some thermal paste and fixed it last night but it was a wasted couple of days with a computer screen covered in glitches. And today I discovered my tablet's pen is buggered, conspiracy theories abound.
Lately I've been letting the political climate kill me and I can't seem to find a way to shake myself out of it. I keep thinking, hey australia is sane it'll be great to get back there, but every day I read another article about the howard government determindly dragging us toward the american system of government. I mean fuck, voluntary voting? People know exactly what the outcome of that will be, elections will be won by whoever can stage the biggest campaign. People like me, who have no fucking faith in democracy, just won't vote. Its hard to get excited about participating in a farce.
Blah.
