| | accomplished | ] | Aah, nothin' but the good ol' taste of fried chicken. Well sonny, tuck in.
How do they get the chicken so crispy, grandpappy?
They don't always, son. You's gotta know which places to go te at the right time. You's make sure to visit 'em places where's lotsa peopl', them chickens always freshly fried.
What about places where no one visits, grandpappy? Whats wrong with their chicken?
Heh heh, them chickens are fried too much son, 'cos no one eats 'em. They keep them meat overnight'n keep fryin'em till someone comes.
But that'll mean no one goes there 'cos the chicken is bad, an' the chicken is bad 'cos no one goes there.
Hehe, you sure learn fast, sonny. Now dig in! |

| Imagine Me and You (final) |
[Mar. 27th, 2009|03:41 pm] |
Imagine Me and You is a tribute to the minds and lives of significant others who have shaped me. One shared memory between the sitter and I is chosen for each photograph. Each sitter is first asked to think about the memory and then asked to pose as me, hence the fusion of both our identities into one persona.
Note the first line of text indicates the episode chosen.

[Mar. 12th, 2009|11:58 am] |
What if God was a rock star? Wouldn't it be so much easier to worship him?
But rock is already a religion, we don't need God for that. |

| Notes from "Why People Photograph" by Robert Adams |
[Jan. 31st, 2009|11:49 pm] |
"Photographers know this frailty [of words]. To them words are a pallid, diffuse way of describing and celebrating what matters. Their gift is to see what will be affecting as print. Mute." -pg 35 on Writing
"Judith Joy Ross has, as an artist, no formula. She starts over again each time -- the riskiest way to do it." -pg 103 on Judith Joy Ross
"[Szarkowski] admires both Atget's intense, relatively straightforward attention to the physical beauty of the world ... and his reluctance to assign large meanings to his subjects. Atget's pictures are thus recognized as a supreme expression of most phootgraphers' instinctive faith -- a belief in the significance of specific scenes, a significance fittingly matched to the unique power of the cmaera for precise transcription -- and a hesitancy to theorize, a disinclination encouraged by the resistance offered from such fully recorded specificity." -pg 124-125 on Eugene Atget
