I especially like rooms with lots of picture frames and little pieces of paper. I've been a lurker, and now I'm a member! I figured I'd introduce myself with a question post ;) I've been super inspired by all your lovely rooms and photos; some of you have some amazing things!! I'm a college student trying to come up with a neat idea for my dorm room. I love my little ponies, fashion, and pretty colors.

Hey guys!
Sadly, my digital camera was loaned out, so I can't provide any pictures, but I want to know if adding a chandelier to my room would look cheap or tacky?
I have the rainbow stripes comforter from Target, light-almost-dark blue walls, dark wood furniture, and a brown carpet. I thought adding a tiny chandelier I saw at IKEA might add an extra air of fun/playfulness, and also show off my love for fairy tales. Considering my age, though (I'm 27), would it be considered like above, or childish, or just simply wouldn't work?
Any help is appreciated :)

How do you store your shoes?
I currently have this trolley thing outside my room, but it's too small for all of them (15) & they get dusty D:
so I was thinking more like this thing here for in my closet (put on its side), but it's too wide since I have about 115 x 75 x 30cm free space at the bottom, otherwise it'd be perfect.
Anyone know where to get anything similar in the UK, or have any awesome creative shoe/closet ideas you could show me?

Welcome to my room..... living back with my parents hasnt been easy but luckily enough they have a massive room which i can store half of my stuff in and i can block half the room off with bookcases for extra privacy.

I've been working on spicing up my room since my roommate and I decided to stay put. My room is smaller, so I am getting rid of my dresser and keeping all my clothes in the closet. Any cute ways to store jeans? I can't hang them, and they don't lend well to being in baskets.
Also, what do you do with your kitty litter box? Mine is so tacky. :c

Hello, I am chelsea and I am 18 and I live in Ft Lauderdale, Florida.
I am moving into an apartment with my two best friends next week!
We are going to be living in Tampa and we are all going to the University of South Florida. :)
I am so so so excited about decorating and we have our bathroom planned. Magenta and black accents with grey walls and zebra shower curtain. We are calling it our "drag queen" bathroom and putting a disco ball in it!
But my room, on the other hand, I do not have planned out.
It isnt too big but not toooo small. I got the middle sized room.
I already bought all my furniture, a corner desk, a night stand, and a bed. All from ikea <33
Also, since its kind of small i got drawers and stuff for my closet to save space and not have a dresser.
All of my furniture is black, or what ikea calls "black/brown,"
and this is the comforter I purchased:
i love it sooo much.
(i felt guilty buying it because it was so expensive, so i babysat these demons and made 90 dollars so i feel like i earned it!!! haha)
now where the help comes in, since i rambled sooo much.
what colors should i paint my walls?!?!
i am opposed to nothing. i really need help. im so indecisive. i was thinking chocolate brown but i think it will all be wayyy to dark!

hi everyone!
i'm erin and i'm 20 years old from ohio. i will be moving into my first apartment this fall, but for now i'm spending the summer in my bedroom at my parents house.
i've had this room for 10 years now, and it has 10 years worth of clutter/memories. my mom and i painted it yellow and blue when i was in the 9th grade to hopefully offset the dark carpets. it's not the tidiest of places but everything in here takes me back to a specific moment in time.

i'm moving into a new flat next month for term time, and my bedroom doesn't have a proper wardrobe. there's like a cupboard thing but it's only shelved, there's no rails to hang anything from.
i was thinking about getting a stand up hanging rail thing but as far as i've seen they look kinda weird? does anyone have any photos of theirs?
otherwise i guess i'm just gonna fold everything.
if anyone has any other ideas of what i can do with this please help!

I can't paint in this apartment, so the walls are going to be filled. I don't mind the white so much; it, and the two windows, help make it exceptionally bright. The only problem this has is during the morning.

I always see rooms in here who maximize the small space, so any help in arranging the furniture would be fantastic! Luckily, my school provides outlines of the rooms.

First time poster-- been lurking for about a week or two. :]
My name is Stefi, I'm 17 from Iowa. My room was incredibly bland looking when we first moved into our house about a year ago. It was just plain white walls with ugly sand-colored carpet. Since then, I've managed to cover the carpet with blag rugs since I can't install new carpet, and since I've not gotten around to painting [until now] I just plastered my walls with posters and random pictures.
I'm currently gathering inspiration/suggestions for redecorating. I've decided that I want my room to have a Moroccan/Harem/Middle Eastern in general theme/feel to it. Warm colors are a definite must, but I need to sort out the details. My questions will be asked at the end of the post.
As I post pictures [WARNING: may be a bit picture heavy] I'll try to point out what I'd like to change, and if you'd like to make suggestions I'm more than open to them. :]
Now that you have seen my room, I'd like to hear your suggestions as to how I can change it around to match my theme? I have plans of wall painting, so wall color suggestions would be nice. I thought about a tan-ish orange? Or a deep reddish orange?
I'm also getting a new bed and new bedding, but I'd like to know where I can purchase bedding to fit the theme for a reasonable price? eBay is no use. : (
Also, any pictures of Moroccan/Harem/Indian/Middle-Eastern-themed rooms with autumn colors would be AMAZING. Maybe links to sites where I can purchase deco in that style? I'm getting a Mosque Clock, for sure. ;P

Hello! I'm Rachel, 22, GA. I have posted here once before, but that was almost a year ago. Since then I have moved, and my room is almost completely different. I keep it pretty minimalist and clean, but I like pops of color and little details the best.
Not my room, but rather a photograph I took in Lausanne, Switzerland which inspired my color palette for my room. It's not a perfect photograph, but I was mostly interested in the colors.

Hi! This is my first time posting on here, so be nice. I'm is Kendra, i'm a high school student, and I love music.
My family moved to a new house around two years ago, currently my room is blue with a flower border (ew), and i'd like that to change. My mom is willing to let me paint my room, depending on my color choice. I really am a huge music fan, and my favorite artist is Teddy Geiger. I have two of his posters i'd like to put on my walls, along with some other framed pictures. I've also got a recliner chair and a large desk. I play guitar, acoustic music is my passion.
My room is pretty messy in the pictures, but you get the idea.
I'd love suggestions of color, design, pretty much everything would help! Tai!

I want there to be a method to the madness. I looked under the posters tag but there were no image entries.
I was thinking just framing them would do the trick but they're all odd dimensions so that wouldn't be so easy.

Where do you get cool fairy lights? Or just normal ones, but preferably with a white wire thingamajigger. I've looked EVERYWHERE. They had some in the outdoor lighing section of Ikea on their website, but I can't buy anything until the laminate flooring is put in (and the first day will be July 30 -.-)and when I looked today, THEY WEREN"T THERE. None that were available at the Emveryville, CA Ikea anyway. :( Help?
