Name: Jack Driscoll
Age: 33
Appearance: Jack is A tall man standing around 6'1" with a slender build and long arms and legs. His hair is a dark brown, almost black, his skin a light peach, Jack's almond shaped eyes are a bright hazel color. Often times, he is seen with a grim expression, often looking as though he is constantly thinking, but sometimes you can see a smile escape that sad exterior; which is rare. Usually wearing suits of admirable taste in the time era, they're not as nearly fancy looking as those who can afford expensive suits. He wears dark colors, colors that suit his personality.
Personality: A generally overall nice guy, Jack cares deeply for his friends like any good person should. A quiet guy, he stays to himself most of the time when traveling the big city, or watching his plays being rehearsed. Though he does alright in the theatre industry, the fact that his plays are being performed on stage hasn't gone to his head yet and he's still the same person he's always been. A bit negative towards actors, probably because of his dealings with them while watching his plays rehearsed, Jack isn't one to be particularly fond of their personalities. He may seem cold or distant, but he's actually very close and open to his friends.
Strengths: An extremely gifted writer, Jack is able to, in detail, look deep within the human psyche and write out the emotions of his characters as though they were based from actual people. A deep thinker, Jack takes his time with precise detail and carefully makes sure that his information is accurate. A man with lots of emotion himself, but often of little spoken words, he'd rather examine people instead of communicating with them. As an English major, Jack knows the ins and outs of what a good story should include. He's not all to bad with a gun either.
Weaknesses: Jack is mostly an introvert and finds that communicating with people he doesn't know to be rather discomforting, but often even with those he does know. Its hard for Jack to explain his feelings in speech, and he's more than likely to let you know how he feels in his writing, which most times people still don't understand what he's trying to say. Easily manipulated by friends because of his caring nature, Jack is often going out of his way to make sure his friends are pleased. (Yeah, you Carl.) Jack is very proud about his work, (perhaps being called an elitist) and often gets upset when people feel the need to change the lines he wrote specifically for his characters and so he'll sometimes come in and allow himself to show the actors his vision.
Personal History: Having been into reading and making stories growing up, when Jack was old enough he attended Columbia University and majored in English studies. While there, a friend of the Driscoll family, George Kaufman, introduced him to Carl Denham, a man interested in unique and rather different films than what America had seen. After learning that Carl despised filmmakers for their misinforming people about Cannibals, Jack began to admire Carl for his determination to set things straight.
A few years later, while in Berlin, he ran across Carl and the two once again became friends, or more precisely, drinking buddies. Once Carl was sent back to the states for another job a few weeks later, it wasn't until that when Jack himself traveled back to New York, that they once again renewed their friendship. But being a playwright, and knowing that authors come a dime a dozen, Jack isn't exactly the richest person in the world, in fact, he just does okay with what he has, which is less than one would think.
Information of Jack's past and interests taken directly from the movie novelization. So the information provided is correct. Don't believe me? Check out the book yourself.
This journal is fictional and for roleplaying purposes only. I am not Jack Driscoll, or Adrien Brody, so please do not sue me for roleplaying a fictional character that I did not create. I am just borrowing him for some fun in
