Randomness

Right. Christmas presents. Marco's parents are done (shock horror!), and I know what I want to get Marco, but I need to either enlist his Mum's help or be in the States to do it without him knowing. I have an idea of what to get Mum and Boo (if I don't find anything better) and I'm waiting on input from Posie and Fluff to work out what they want. I never know what to get Fran, Barney or Nan, so I'm waiting on inspiration there. The boys at Uni will require no presents, though we'll likely organise some kind of eventy thing to amuse ourselves and have an excuse for me to get drunk and everyone else to be amused by it; similarly the girls at work are planning to go to a Snow Ball (yes, I thought it sounded incredibly dirty too - they really know nothing about anything) after I'm gone and thusly I can be excused from further expense there (I think catering to a 200-strong family I've never met is challenge enough for my bank balance, thanks). I don't know what's going on with girls-from-Westcliff - I doubt I'll have the chance to get together with any of them - but to be fair I only really talk to Ellie regularly (and even then not as often as I'd like) and I spotted something a while ago that she simply had to have, so that's been sitting in my drawer for ages, waiting for Christmas to roll around.

Hmm. I think I might actually have Christmas fairly sussed out this year. Scary. S'long as I get paid properly this month and next month it shouldn't be too much of a strain on the bank balance, either. July and August's wages are going into the "living" fund for bills and food and such so that my loan can go into my savings account and generate me some interest. September's wages will go into the savings account too, though by then I might need to dip into that fund a bit, but it shouldn't take it under the level that it should be if I'm pacing the money properly, so that's not a worry. I might not need much of it though since this year's birthday is my 21st so I imagine Fran will be rather generous (if my 18th is anything to go by). I know Mum's planning on a large present (I've been dropping "iBook" hints until my face turned white and sprouted a little apple logo) and so far I've only "spent" £120 of my birthday money (on a new phone and a plush faux-leather office chair, since... well, I want them, and the phone / chair I have now are both a bit knackered) though to be realistic I'll likely spend more than that on getting to London for some kind of family oriented celebratory thing and my birthday present to me, which I'm yet to choose. The word "iBook" comes to mind, but I'm really, really hoping Mum's getting these hints. In any case, that's a little out of my budget. I might treat myself to another gig of memory or something else equally geeky. I don't know yet.

Ugh. Speaking of geeky, I have a project to work on - not to mention laundry and washing up to do. Damn, damn, damn.

I've already started on my Xmas list too. This year I will be prepared and not flailing about on the 22nd seeing what I could order online for next day delivery with wrapping. ^_^

Hopefully I can get Xmas shopping out of the way this month and focus on ghostly fun next month (yay for ghost hunting) and then just enjoy the mood when December rolls in. :)
