How long had it been since my last encounter with death? Days? Weeks? Months? I couldn't tell. Everything within the grayness of my reality seemed to blend together. I was lost within my own mind, my own being and my own hell. The gray clouds upon a swift black sunrise was a familiar backdrop to me. Nothing was anything and everything meant nothing at all. Madness, perhaps, but it was what I knew and would grow to know all too well in my coming years.
