Just a quick note to those people who insist on tweeting "New blog post: The Lump of Green Putty I Found in My Armpit One Mid-Summer Morning" and the like:
You have thoroughly failed to grok both media.
That is all.
And conversely, the same applies to those who update their LJ with their tweets.
Well, TBF the birdcage.pl "microblog" people are only /necessarily/ failing at one medium. They might still be reasonable twitter users...
No, I think they fail at Twitter, too--the ambient intimacy of Twitter works so well becuase it's contextual and sorta realtime, and the tweetdumps to blogs are neither.
Sure, but if I'm /not/ reading their blog, but I am reading their twitter, then I still benefit from those aspects. Ergo, they're not /necessarily/ failing at twitter, but they are certainly failing at blogging.
Well, when I see a blog post on "To tweet or not to tweet, a web 2.0 guide", I'll let you know.
Dude, I am getting old for this. I mean, I remember Usenet being number one awesomeness, messed ASCII art sigs and all man.
