|||||Tori Amos -- Pretty Good Year||]|
I got up this morning, and had some breakfast (yay, oatmeal!), took my new meds, and had a shower.
Decided I'd go down to the coffee shop and have some more fun reading how different operating systems deal with TurboSPARC. I've got enough data to figure this out, I think.
About 1/3 of the way there (I.e. down the hill from home) my check engine light came on and the car started sputtering. There's a smell, too.
The manual says, basically, drive it slowly to the nearest service station. Called up White Wall Auto on Hillsborough, and they say they can have a look at it. So I drove up up there and then walked home.
I think I like White Wall. If nothing else, I've been there once before, for an inspection, and they were pleasant to deal with then. That, and Jimmy didn't ask my name, he just wrote down "Jones" as I was walking in the door. It's really scary how much I resemble my granddad.
So now I'm waiting for a call. I'm betting it'll be distributor/wires/plugs, as the oil level looked ok, and it was doing the sputtering in neutral. Still, what a PITA.
