Colleen just got back from West Virginia. ooohoohoo fun it was

So I suppose ill start at the beginning.

Monday: father picked me and my brother up and we started on our really really obscenely long drive to west virginia.

*car ride*

we saw a sign for the camp ground and turned onto a road to find the town of minden, west virginia. well well well. ever seen a picture of haiti? you know that poor hot country. well that looks like a palace compared to minden. im serious

we got there, set up our tent, and just as i went to sit down a bird decided to let it all go and pooped on my head. it was disgusting. so instead of sitting down i ran to the bathroom and washed my hair. then i sat down

we ate dinner, checked out the place, etc, went to sleep

tuesday: woke up at an ungodly hour [7:00 uggh] to go white-water raftingg...ahhh so fun

we woke up, got dressed, and headed down to breakfast. once we ate we went to check in at the place. once everyone had checked in we set off to our bus ride.

*bus ride*

got to the lower new [river], found our raft guide, met the people we'd be rafting with [they were cool], started rafting.

it was really, megaly fun and such and no one fell out until the last rapid of the day. so it wasnt that bad going down the rapid...it was when our guide decides we need to go back up it. so we started going up it and our boat goes vertical. the first time only my brother fell out. but then we did it twice more.

on the 3rd time me and the lady next to me went flying out of the raft and where does colleen end up? of course...under the raft. so i was flipping out. i had no clue where i was. i tried to breathe and gulped in a mouthful of water which is when i realized that i was under the boat. so i calmly [wildly] pulled myself out from under the boat and heard my father screaming "SWIM TO THE GIANT ROCK". so i sputtered some and swam to the rock.

it was scary as crap. but really fun.

once we got back from rafting we went in the lake [which had a bunch of trampolines, and blobs, and stuff] and swam around.

then we drove to beckley, west virginia. hmm quite the town. i went in my 1st ever Big lots...quite the experience. we ate at some restaurant with a ton of fat people. it was a nice night.

went to sleep

wednesday: woke up, got ready, ate breakfast

checked in for caving. it was fun too.

not much to elaborate on. we had to crawl through these really tight spots, it was really pretty and cold...it was cool

got back to the place and got ready to swim in the lake. so me and my brother were on the blob and he flung me off and out of the corner of my eye i saw these two enormous coach buses pull up.

and out of those come none other than 80 boy scouts. i swear. me and taylor then decided to run for cover. so we hightailed it to a trampoline hoping they werent gonna go in the lake.

but of course, they did.

boy scouts are way different then i imagined them. these ones were from chicago and really unboyscoutly. i felt out of place considering there were 100 people in the lake and i was the only girl. but it was cool. guys can be better than girls mosta the time anyway.

so these few guys were jumping with us [one had really cool hair] and we started talking to them. they were pretty cool. so we swam/talked with em for a while and then got out.

went to dinner and to the huge bridge that people base jump off of for bridge day.

went to sleep [god the boyscouts were so loud]

thursday: woke up, took down camp, left.

went and biked the new river trail in virginia. it was ok.

came home.

so that was my big grand west virginia trip. it was actually really fun.
miss you guys. field hockey practice starts monday. ugh running.
