Fandemonium
It's 8:30 PM Sunday here at Fandemoniun, things are winding down, the boffer battle will take place soon, and we have the table packed up. This con doesn't shut down til midnight on Sunday. We had a good weekend, sales were up 38% over last year. I also picked up some good stuff from a store that is liquidating. One dealer has some original Black & White Warp edition Elfquests for $1 that I almost bought, as well as some other stuff. My wife got to play in several games, including some stuff she has never played, including a Harn game she is in right now, as well as a couple Serenity games. I did both of the Quick Paint contests this year, I took 2nd in the first one, and won the second one. We'll be heading home in the AM. |

I spent Pioneer day at the store, to both get away from the downtown parade crowd, and to get some work done with very little interruptions. That and a UPS shipment was due to arrive on Thursday. The UPS driver was next door when I arrived but didn't have anything for me. I called the shipper to get a track and it turns out someone at the local sorting area decided I wasn't going to be open today and left the package off the truck. UPS was apologetic, but only offering to deliver it friday, in other words, they weren't really offering to do a damn thing about it. Another shipment arrived from a different source via FedEx. This time the shipper made a mistake and marked it Certified funds, which means money order, it was supposed to be COD check. I called the Shipper right there and had the accounting department ok a check, saying that was what it was supposed to be. The driver then called his Boss and explained the situation, but his boss told him not to take a check. The accountant said she was sending a change order to FedEx to authorize a check, and ot would show up on his screen in a few minutes. He didn't want to wait because he was busy. I pointed out that today was a State holiday, and half of the places he delivered to were closed, so his schedule wasn't that heavy. He shrugged me off. So today I have 3 shipments arriving via UPS, 2 arriving via FedEx and 1 that just arrived via DHL. I've never had a problem with DHL here. Anyways have fun all, and BTW the DHL was a restock of the Mana Potions |

I've been rather busy the past 2 weeks. Over the Weekend of the 4th, My Cousin Jack got Married, so I dual purposed a trip to Montana to go take care of some estate business, and some Mount Cordahl business. I had some leftover time, and we made a trip to Glacier Park for the afternoon. Then headed down to Dillon for the wedding. I'm actually thinking of Keeping Mount Cordahl, which was my dad's company, and letting my brother and Sister split the house. They both have absolutely no interest in Mount Cordahl, where i do, as I made about 10K in commission, and the company actually made a profit 2 years in a row, plus I'm the only one left who can run that particular company. I have finished moving everything out of Castle, and the new store is up and running, I just need to get the sign done. Come ask me in person on my thoughts about not being at Castle. Tonight we are having a release party for Warhammer 40K. Games Workshop is sponsoring it with about $400 worth of prizes, and best of all, entry is free. I was making plans to go to requiem last week, but someone got sick and I ended up being stuck at the store. I also actually started updating my prestige log. |

Hulk Smash!
Went and saw Hulk last night. Not as good as Iron Man, but far superior to the Ang Lee version. We got the Keys to the new place the other day, yesterday was spent cleaning the carpet. Fixing some burned out light bulbs is next. Also going to have to buy some new racks, I plan to do that today, and get some of them up this weekend as well. Midsummer's is this weekend, Hopefully I can make it to Requiem. Got the Free RPG Day stuff in. Free RPG goodies a week from tomorrow. |

WW D&D Day
Saturday was WW D&D Day. We had 5 Dm's lined up about a month in advance, plus a spare. I even put up a sign up sheet, so people could sign up for a specific DM. At CONduit the spare DM informed me he couldn't make it, but we only had 12 of 25 slots filled. Over the next week, we filled up all 25 slots, and had few people on standby. Several people called the morning of, I told them the sign up list was full, but many people hadn't showed. We ended up with 12 people on the standby list for a total of 37 sign ups. Also one of the DM's canceled the night before, but fortunately Art was able to run a game for us. Of the 37 sign ups, 21 actually showed up, so 4 sessions were ran during the day time. the odd person out volunteered to stay if a 5th group could be put together. Eventually a 5th group was formed, and agreed to start play at 7PM, they ended up taking the longest, and didn't finish til almost midnight. Only 1 group killed the dragon, and 1 group wounded it badly enough that it fled, and was still considered a party victory. One group didn't run the dragon fight, and the other 2 kept the dragon from starving to death. We also ran a D&D Trivia contest which was pretty challenging. No one got a perfect score. |

This past weekend was CONduit. Attendance was down, but the dealer's room situation was better. Last year it was cramped, and we had a 1 foot aisle in front of the table, this year it was spacious and we had about 10 feet of space in front, and never felt cramped like we have the last couple years. A little less organized this year however, and we never found out the dealer room hours til we got there. We got set up ok, but had to leave Travis and Kari at the store to await the Alliance Shipment, which we got around 3PM. Saturday was the best day, double Friday and Sunday combined, also being the only game dealer helped, but sales were still down from the year before. I was planning to play requiem Saturday night, but had a few commitments to take care of first, one was to set up an Army for 40k, which I ended up needing to run to the store to get a template that was missing, unable to find it I returned to the con, only to discover they had it there all along. and in the meantime the decided to cancel the late night 40K game, making the previous 2 hours a waste of time, by this point it was 12:30 AM, and I decided to skip requiem and head home. While driving home Sunday Night, I had a brake failure, I had to wait til Tuesday and it ended up costing me $632, which wiped out the money I made from CONduit, fortunately I had the money at the time. In the mean time, I'm looking forward to D&D Game day June 7th, we have 25 player slots, and 22 are spoken for. |
