I love the look of smokey eyes, but I feel like it clashes with my dark features since my hair might as well be black & I have dark eyes. Since brightly colored eyeshadow isn't really my thing, I was wondering if you guys have any eye looks that make your brown eyes pop, or at least do not conflict with your natural features, without really using rainbow colors.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. — One southern Wisconsin homeowner is probably not in love with the Oscar Mayer wiener.

The famed hot dog's Wienermobile crashed Friday into the deck and garage of a home in Mount Pleasant, about 35 miles south of Milwaukee.

Police say the driver was trying to turn the Wienermobile around in the driveway and thought she was moving in reverse. But she instead went forward and hit the home. It sat in the driveway as if it were stuck in the garage Friday afternoon.

No one was home and no one was injured. No citations were immediately issued.

Both the home and vehicle suffered moderate damage, which Oscar Mayer spokeswoman Sydney Lindner says insurance will cover.

We wouldn't exactly call Hailey Glassman Stepmom material, but sources tell Hollyscoop that Jon Gosselin is pretty serious about his new girlfriend.

"They're official," a source close to the couple tells Hollyscoop exclusively, adding that "They have crazy chemistry with each other. They're the real deal."

Singer Marc Anthony and Miami Dolphins football team up

The Miami Dolphins may be the most star-studded team in the NFL soon. By stars we mean celebrities of course.

A news conference has been scheduled for Tuesday in New York for a “major corporate announcement” with Marc Anthony aka Jennifer Lopez’s husband.

There is the possibility that Marc Anthony will be announced as a minority owner. The same thing happened last month when singer Gloria Estefan and her husband, producer Emilio Estefan, bought a small stake in the team.

New Dolphins owner Stephen Ross also began a partnership in May with Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville enterprise, which includes Land Shark Lager.

Jimmy Buffett has yet to accept the invitation to become a minority owner, but the Dolphins’ stadium has been renamed Land Shark Stadium for this season.

Some upsetting news from the American Idol auditions.

A man let his small terrier dog die in a car that got overheated while he waited with his girlfriend to audition for American Idol at Mile High Stadium in Denver on Tuesday.

Quincy Vanderbilt, 24, was served Tuesday with a misdemeanor for animal cruelty.

Temperatures hit a high of 91 in Denver that day. He left the windows up and by the time he checked back at 2 PM, the dog was dead.

So sad, and so easily preventable.

Dallas R. McKennon dies

Voiceover artist Dallas McKennon, whose voice is well-known in the Disney theme parks at various attractions, including the American Adventure, the Country Bear Jamboree, and the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster, has died at age 89.

McKennon also did movie work for Disney, using his vocal talents in Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins, 101 Dalmations, and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. His voice was familiar to many cereal-muching Saturday morning cartoon watchers in shows such as Gumby and Archie, in which he spoke for the title character.

McKennon did some live film work, too, most noteably as innkeeper Cincinnatus in the series Daniel Boone with well-known co-star Fess Parker. He also appeared in an Elvis Presley movie, Clambake, as a gas station worker.

McKennon died on Tuesday, July 14, just five days before he would have turned 90. However, he will live on every time he warns Magic Kingdom guests to "hold on to your hats and glasses 'cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

SOURCE

For those wondering, he also voiced Tony the Tiger, and here is his imdb entry.

EDIT: for folks questioning the 'tony the tiger' factoid, point your lookin' balls at this:

Tony originally appeared in 1952, designed by children's book illustrator Martin Provensen and voiced on television by Dallas McKennon.

'Dallas R. McKennon' is an United States actor, sometimes credited as 'Dal McKennon', with extensive work as a voice actor.Born in La Grande, Oregon, McKennon's best-known roles are that of Gumby for Art Clokey, and Archie Andrews for Filmation's The Archie Show series, and the primary voice of Buzz Buzzard in the Woody Woodpecker'. Shortly after the initial Sugar Frosted Flakes advertisements aired, McKennon was replaced by Thurl Ravenscroft.

Duo sparked by 'Project Greenlight' A.K.A. The dead horse is beaten

Turns out there is a "Project Greenlight" legacy.

The reality TV series, which plucked Hollywood hopefuls from obscurity to pursue their creative visions, was perhaps more famous for its cringeworthy behind-the-scenes moments than the films it yielded.

But two of its alums, scribes Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, have parlayed their "Feast" script for the show's final season on Bravo into an impressive genre run.

They penned three "Saw" films for Lionsgate and are the minds behind home-invasion thriller "The Collector," which is quietly shaping up for a wide 1,350-screen release when it bows July 31 through Freestyle Releasing.

The $3 million project, shot in 19 days and produced by Fortress Features and Imaginarium Entertainment, is also Dunstan's Hollywood helming debut.

"The exhibitors' reaction has been a wonderful shock, given that this summer's dominated by wizards, robots and flying houses," he admits.

Of course, Freestyle is emphasizing the scribes' "Saw" connection in its promo push for the pic, in which a handyman ex-con aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer's home.

As for their next steps, the duo's already working on a "Saw VII" script.

"Will we do a romantic comedy eventually?" Melton asks. "Probably not."

And the duo still gets recognized for "Project Greenlight," more than four years after the fact -- particularly from aspiring writers.

"Just the other night, a guy recognized us outside the Vista Theater," Melton notes. "It was our big break and we're still grateful."

You've got to be fucking kidding me. The story ENDED in Saw III! And they're making a a seventh film?! And they couldn't have picked some new writers that are actually good? The last two films have been awful. Ugh.

Edit: Sorry for spoiling the ending of Saw III to those who haven't seen it. That being said, it's still worth seeing. Still, I apologize.

alan ball explains his fascination with death in his movie/tv projects
date: July 17 2009

True Blood creator Alan Ball blames his fascination with death on a horrifying childhood experience - when he watched as his sister was killed in a car crash.

The writer has tackled the macabre in all of his film and TV projects, including American Beauty, funeral parlour drama Six Feet Under and vampire series True Blood.
He insists death has stayed with him since the adolescent tragedy.

Ball, 52, explains to Entertainment Weekly, "When I was 13 years old I was in a car accident with my sister who was driving the car. It was her 22nd birthday and she died. She died in front of me. She died all over me. (Death) stuck its big old ugly face in my face and my life changed. That's why death seems to be a theme that appears in all my stuff."

So last night Bryan Greenberg aka Jake from OTH was playing at Schuba's downtown. No idea he was into music and recording an album but he was pretty decent in the small venue.

He even plugged his new show 'How to make it in America' which will be on HBO where Bryan plays a struggling fashion designer.

The Homosexual Undertones of the Half-Blood Prince

Hogwarts is a hormonal hothouse! Wizards are snogging in the halls, winking at each other during Potions class, and they're even abusing their powers to seduce other supple wizards. Director David Yates did a fantastic job capturing the sexual tension that must throb through any kind of co-ed castle. But because the most troublesome part of teen sexuality is the idea of a loose lady wizard most of the innuendos and flirtation stayed between the boys. And so in the tradition of British boarding schools things got a little gay.

Here's a breakdown (spoiler free):

Ron adores Harry, naturally. Ron's always been uneasy around girls and it was chalked up to the fact that he's clumsy goof. But in the sixth installment, Ron has become a bit of a strapping butch boy and he starts to get noticed by the girls. He plays along but really only lights up when he is around Harry. His supposed crush on Hermione is as lustful as nursing home bingo game. But when Harry's in the room, Rupert Grint, who plays Ron, blushes, grins, his shoulders roll back and hips sway forward when he talks to Harry.

Daniel Radcliffe who has always played Harry a little fey, undulates and titters around Ron. At a quidditch tryout Ron needs to impress Harry in order to make the team. Harry's eyes stayed locked on Ron as he straddles a broom. When Ron succeeds in blocking a score from the opposing team, Ron leans back on his broom, clutches the broom at its base and points it in Harry's direction. Harry beams. It is a giant phallic broomstick in between his legs! C'mon people!

Also, there is a lot of touching and affection between the male teachers of Hogwartz and the boys. Whether it's Snape, (Alan Rickman looks like a New Wave lesbian in a cape) who continually pushes his chest into Harry's face. Or Professor Slughorn who longs for Harry's attention and who Harry essentially seduces for information. Or Dumbledore, with his feminine affectation is such an obvious old queen.

There's a whole closed cabinet/closed motiff too! At one point, Dumbledore confronts a young Voldemort about a literal flaming box of secrets in his closet!

And even though Rowling has revealed that Dumbledore was in fact a gay, the homoeroticism that was on the screen is absent in the books. Hell, I don't even think it was in the script. The young male actors are bubbling over with sexual energy and had nowhere to point it so they pointed it at each other.

Only Mary Ellen Mark can claim to have documented the turmoil on the most notorious film set of all time (Apocalypse Now), as well as the making of classics as diverse as Tootsie, One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Fellini’s Satyricon. With photographs from more than 50 film sets, Mark’s recently published book, Seen Behind the Scene: Forty Years of Photographing On Set (Phaidon), provides a revealing look at how the movies get made.

Director Francis Ford Coppola shelters himself from the driving rain that added to the troubles of an already beleaguered shoot for "Apocalypse Now" (1979).
