I may rent a couple of movies tonight.

What comedy do you recommend I get?
Drama?
Thriller?

Whether or not it's a new release doesn't really matter to me.
I just want to watch something that's really good.

I got a prescription of Loraxepam maybe a little over a year ago, by a doctor in Urgent Care.
It's not something I take everyday, just when I feel an anxiety attack come on. I have only taken 3 in the past year because once I started seeing my therapist, I have needed it less.

Anyways, it expires on the 30th, and I would love to still have it around for just "one of those days", but i don't have the time or money to go into Urgent Care right now. This prescription has no refills.

If I took my bottle into the pharmacy, would they be able to replace only the old with  new? Or would I have to go back to UC and try to get another prescription written up?

Because googling "list of green foods" just brings up a bunch of environmentally friendly food companies, I must ask you.

Will you please tell me all of the food that you know that are green in color?

Do you wear glasses?

Are you near-sighted or far-sighted?

What is your prescription?

I bought a ticket on ebay. It arrived today and it's the kind that you print yourself through ticketmaster. Should this worry me? Would this worry you?

The person doesn't have any negative feedback or anything but I'm a huge worrier.

There's this guy that I barely know that is quite attractive. He's a local guide and brings tours into my museum sometimes. Seeing him brightens my day, pretty much, because he looks like Wilson from House. The last time I had a real conversation with him (that actually lasted more than maybe two minutes) was about a year ago.

SO WHY DID HE JUST HUG ME BEFORE HE LEFT THIS TIME?

I mean, I'm not complaining because he looks like Wilson from House. But seriously, like... what does that MEAN considering I barely know him?

what would you think of three forty year old men going by themselves to see a hannah montana concert?

would you take their offer to go backstage to possibly meet her (they bought backstage passes from ebay)?

Why the  hell is Twilight so popular?

My sister read the first and told me that is was okay if your into sappy romance, but I keep hearing about drama and action too, is this true?

I have about 6 books in the wings to be read, and only 3 weeks until school starts back up and when it starts I won't have time to read anymore, should I put it on the list anyway?

NASA asks for donations of... urine

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 3:28 PM
The NASA contractor developing the space capsule which will take astronauts back to the moon is asking workers at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas to donate their urine.

They say they need 30 liters a day (8 gallons) in order to design and test the new capsule's toilet.

Okay, so not only does the haircut make him look older, but bear in mind these photos are a good 6 weeks more recent than the ones you have been seeing. And also the cheapo $8 disposable camera quality makes him look different too. So it's not just the haircut!

I was at the beach yesterday and a green/horsefly bit/stung whatever they do, to my leg.
It looked like a mosquito bite, about the size of a dime, but now it's about the size of a pancake. I've been taking benadryl and putting cortaid on it. My question is:

Does this happen to you? How long does it usually last for you? At what point would you run your ass to the doctor?

Or, if you don't care about my grossness

Am I the only one who didn't like TDK?

What was the last band you saw in concert, and where?

I just saw Portugal the Man and Rx Bandits play at some tiny bar in Orlando last night and it was sooooo amazing. I'm still in awe.

History's Lost and Found

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 1:02 PM
Long ago when I was in my latter teens I came accross a block of balsa wood. i was really into Bauhaus back then so I decided to make a piece of fan art out of it. I carved it into the shape of the familiar 'Bauhaus face' that the band put on the cover of their '1979-1983' albums. It's also the same design that the Bauhaus school uses as a logo sometimes. My carving was a pretty good likeness, it has four sides, alternating from black to white. Not the most complicated piece I've ever done, but it's still pretty neat. I'm guessing that it's about eighteen or nineteen years old by now.
I was in Peter's possession for a while, then it ended up at Eric's. The last time I saw it was at Alanja's house in one of the upstairs bedrooms a few years ago.
So has anyone seen it lately? Is it happy? Comfortable? Three square meals a day? etc...

Movie Q

What are some dark, creepy, haunting, macabre movies? I'm not really looking for scary movies, though they can be, but just generally a dark, ominous atmosphere throughout the film. Any suggestions?

Saying Goodbye to The Past

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 2:06 PM
When I started my journal on here 6+ years ago (or has it been 7?) I did it as a personal challenge to try and come out of my shell and overcome my painful and crippling shyness. I dared myself to expose my true self to whomever cared to read it, and this was no easy task.

I started it with a user photo that didn't show enough of me to expose who I really was and intended it to be completely anon but soon I found that there were some pretty amazing people on here and I wanted to allow them to SEE the real me as well.

Many times I said too much and once in awhile I also SHOWED too much (remember the daily photos of my bare breast as it turned purple, green and black after biopsies?) but my 5 year stint on Live Journal was a life changer and altho I cringe as I think back to certain pettiness and TMI on my part, it was a personal growth experience that I'll never forget and never regret.

My lustydame journal was just one more step towards honesty and self-exploration but when it came down to it it should of been done anonymously. I pulled my punches, I kept things to myself and ultimately it all felt very awkward and embarrassing.

I find myself now in late July of 2008 being a wiser and much changed dame. I've grown greatly as a person and gone through some tremendous awakenings.

I'm truly in love for the first time in so many years that I can't even figure it out. I thought I'd never get over the husband who mistreated me and eventually left me.... it wasn't that I wanted him back so much as I wanted things to never of gone wrong to begin with. This was something that I just couldn't let go of.

A few years ago psychokitten78 and I were using a spirit board and a very strong entity who claimed to be an angel had one piece of advice for me..... "SURRENDER". The next evening her mother prayed over me, going into a sort of trance state that many Christians go into when in deep prayer... she was receiving a word over and over that she was told to tell me with instructions for great focus and meditation on this word... that word was... "SURRENDER".

I wrote it down and taped it to my computer desk where I saw it every day. I still repeat it to myself when I'm stuck or unable to let someone love me or leave me.... SURRENDER.

It's been a very powerful bit of magic for me and I think sometimes if having it tattooed on me someplace... it's a word of great transformation and change..... once I give up and give in that's when change is allowed to take place.

In the winter of 2007 I met a young man who had wandered into my Stickam room. He was hot, funny, smart, personable and had just *something* to him. He'd come back once in awhile and he always stuck in my head as someone I wanted in my life.

Alas, he had a girlfriend and there was the added roadblock of him living more than 1000 miles away from me. As luck would have it he fell for me and dumped the "big-headed-girl". He's spent a total of 3 weeks with me over this spring/summer and once we've saved up the $4000 we feel we'll need to get on our own he'll be moving here.

We seem to be engaged (altho it's not quite official yet) but still many days I feel undeserving of this man's love... this is when I have to call in the relaxing effects of my magic word and just allow myself to wallow in his love and adoration and accept it for what it is.

Please just wish me well and send thoughts of surrender and joy to me.

Lovingly Yours,
-Elissa-

Looking for video game icons.

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 11:04 AM
I'm working on an LJ for my husband because that's what we're going to use as our main communications while he's deployed. He's really into video games, especially those for the XBOX360. Where's a good place to find icons for games like HALO (in all its incarnations, especially HALO 3), Overlord, Call of Duty 4, Fable (okay, that's a PS2 game, but...), Dynasty Warriors Gundam, etc. Also I'd love to see Hexic icons because that's the only game on the XBOX that I don't suck at.

I tried keyword searches to little avail. Suggestions?

This is the funniest thing I've read in months.

A horse walks into a bar,
The barman asks, "Why the long face?"
To which the horse replies, "I've got AIDS."

Food Dehydrators

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 1:59 PM
I am looking to buy a food Dehydrator and was wondering if anyone can recommend one and/or tell me how well their's worked for them.

I found one at: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=14099344

I have seen one only once that someone into Raw Foods had and I think it was multi-level but don't remember for sure.

Right now I am trying to make Tofu jerky and it takes 6-8 hours in the oven so I want to use a dehydrator next time so cut down on time and electricity use.

in your humble opinion...

1. when you're out with friends how do you guys pay? (split, pay this time other person pays next time, etc).

2. when you're going on a first date who pays? or split?

3. when you're exclusively and officially dating someone who pays?

4. when you're married who pays?

~~~~~
5. what's the most expensive gift you've received? was it also your favorite gift? if not, what was your favorite gift?
Two counties in Michigan have recently banned excessive pants-sagging. I think it's 3 or more inches of underwear (or uh, lack of underwear D:) showing that is considered 'excessive.'
Is this funny, ridiculous, or a good idea?
How about the fact that now they are being harsher than just a fine? Like, they can take you to jail and use it as probable cause to search you.
And does anybody know if they're doing this anywhere else?
Mostly, I think it's kind of funny. I think it's a little extreme to say it's probable cause to search you, but then... if you aren't doing anything, it shouldn't matter. But it's STILL invasion of privacy. Either way, I know I'm not the only person to not really want to view some guy with his pants around his knees and his entire ass hanging out. Supposedly it's making these counties poor because it's scaring away possible residents.
books?
  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 1:35 PM
So, after work I'm stopping by my school's library. I'd really like to pick up a really good romance book. Any suggestions?
And if you don't have a suggestion for that, something young adult, or maybe some vampires and werewolves or something? I just need something to help me relax.
First Bangalore, now Ahmedabad
  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 11:20 AM
Two cities in two days. Multiple injuries and several fatalities. The BJP has of course come out strong against the [ruling] Congress party for not trying to do enough to stop the menace of "terrorism" in the country, after having lost its fight to overthrow the government. Now, it is up to the Prime Minister to pick up the pieces and move on.
However, the Congress has denied the charge of being soft on Terrorism, and believes that this is a ploy to bring down the government. The Police on the other hand are continuing with their investigation, and believes the members of the So Called Extremist Islamic Organization "SIMI" might have had something to do with this.
Meanwhile Delhi, the capital, remains on high alert, while cities like Hyderabad, which had been the target of such attacks in the past are also on the radar.
An eye witness account of the incident in Ahmedabad (with pictures) and the US's response as usual.
