i really hate assumptions.

one of the things that has bugged me this holiday season is peoples' assumptions that children are greedy little shits and want everything they can get their grubby little paws on for christmas. which, yeah, in most cases its true because most people are selfish twats.

in my case, however, i can think of all of two occasions where i've had something that even resembled a sharing issue with boog. this child is the most non selfish child in the world. he'll go to the fridge to get some string cheese and bring me one, too. he baked cookies with his great grandma on monday and brought home a bag, where he told me the flower ones were for me. he wil break a piece off of his own cookie and give it to you.

so the questions of "so is boog's christmas list a mile long? LOL" and "did you get everything boog wanted for christmas? LOL" have been like blunt objects into my skull. mostly because no, i was not able to get him everything he wanted because we did not get a holiday bonus this year and well, regular paycheck goes to such frivolities like, you know, food. but, back to that greedy thing.

you can probably surmise that yes, boog has been the exception to the rule for christmas greed. the conversation always goes as follows:

me: boog, what do you want for christmas?
boog: a sucker.
me: a sucker? that's it?
boog: yeah. a sucker. and that's all.

my child? not a greedy little shit. thank you.

and now i feel better that i got that off my chest. maybe i'm just all pissed off because i am unable to do what i wanted to for my family this year.
