Dawn Of The Dead (d. Zack Snyder, 2004 Remake)
Cool! A super fast paced remake of the rather slow original. Had some creepy scenes and a nice ending but overall not as great as the original. 6/10
They Live (d. John Carpenter, 1988)
This movie was so cool. I thought it would be average but John Carpenter makes it great. Awesome premise. 7.5/10
The Hudsucker Proxy (d. Coen Brothers, 1994)
Another blah Coen Brothers movie. Had a cool Brazil start but the rest faded to zzz. 3/10
The Untouchables (d. Brian De Palma, 1987)
I thought this movie was going to be so cool but it border lined on comedy in some parts. A cool ending though! 6/10
Night Of The Living Dead (d. George Romero, 1968)
The original Zombie movie! Had good dialogue which surprised me! First movie was a black hero! Gotta check it out! 7/10
The English Patient (d. Anthony Minghella, 1996)
A WW2 classic. Although rather long the movies travels at a quick pace. Very sad but great viewing. 8/10
Cinemania (d. Angela Christlieb, Stephen Kijak, 2002)
90 minute documentary on people addicted to watching movies. Like me? Well I thought I was addicted until I saw these guys. I feel better now. 7/10
The Princess And The Warrior (d. Tom Tykwer, 2000)
I was expecting so much more from this movie. It had some nice scenes but overall disappointing compared to Run Lola Run. 6/10
Assault On Precinct 13 (d. Jean-François Richet, 2005 Remake)
I loved the original and this was a very nice remake. Had some plot holes and a typical ending but some fun scenes. Ethan Hawke is an underrated actor! 7/10
Leaving Las Vegas (d. Mike Figgis, 1995)
A movie I expected more from. Nic Cage acted very well but the movie didn't go very far. 6/10
The Grudge (d. Takashi Shimizu, 2004)
This movie is SCARY. The story is crap but some scenes just creeped me out. The ending wasn't at scary as the middle section though. 5.5/10
Deep Red (d. Dario Argento, 1975)
Classic Dario Argento. An awesome movie. I love it more with every viewing. Classic Italian horror. 8.5/10
City Of God (d. Fernando Meirelles, Kátia Lund, 2002)
Hard hitting movie set in Brazil. Very violent but still flows well. Good acting considering most of the people were not trained actors. I'm glad I live in Australia. 7.5/10
The Hustler (d. Robert Rossen, 1961)
Paul Newman is so cool in this movie. It makes you want to go out and play pool! Slow in the middle though. 7/10
Christine (d. John Carpenter, 1983)
Another classy John Carpenter horror. It also has American high school scenes from the 80s. Which I LOVE. Cool score! 7.5/10
Tape (d. Richard Linklater, 2001)
Wow! This movie was COOL. Set in one room and played out in real time. Great acting. Ethan Hawk is becoming one of my favourite actors. 8/10
The Age Of Innocence (d. Martin Scorsese, 1993)
I hate these old posh movies but this one was alright. Why? Because it’s Scorsese and it has his style stamped all over it. Rather slow though. 5/10
Das Boot (d. Wolfgang Petersen, 1981 Director's Cut)
Eek! The longest movie I've ever watched. 221 minutes! Still... great tension! Could only watch once every few years. Nice ending too! 7/10
Kundun (d. Martin Scorsese, 1997)
Couldn't get into this movie much. Story on the Dalai Lama. Some nice cinematography but overall not my cup of tea. 5/10
Romper Stomper (d. Geoffrey Wright, 1992)
Melbourne movie! Yay! Better than I remembered with some very cool scenes (and violent). Russell Crowe shows off why he is popular these days. 7.5/10
Out Cold (d. Brendan Malloy, Emmett Malloy, 2001)
I only watched this movie for the Jack Johnson songs throughout. Pretty bad movie. Like a poor version of American Pie. 4/10
Finding Nemo (d. Andrew Stanton, Lee Unkrich, 2003)
I finally got around to seeing this movie! Very cute and cool. Great animation. Feel good ending too! 6.5/10
Léon: The Professional (d. Luc Besson, 1994)
I love my hit man movies and this one is great. Gary Oldman is such a cool actor. Awesome action scenes. 7/10
A Fistful Of Dollars (d. Sergio Leone, 1964)
My projector was playing up when I was watching this movie so I didn't get the full experience but I was disappointed. The Good, The Bad And The Ugly was so much better. 6.5/10
Dawn Of The Dead (d. George Romero, 1978 Theatrical Version)
Ahh! This version was HEAPS better than the extended one! Don't bother watching the extended version. It adds nothing. 7/10
American Splendor (d. Shari Springer Berman, Robert Pulcini, 2003)
Slick comedy about a comic book creator. Added some great elements but by the end I wasn't super impressed. 6/10
The Amityville Horror (d. Andrew Douglas, 2005 Remake)
This movie was pretty good. Some SCARY scenes but I got bored at times. I want to see the original now. 6/10
Bondi Tsunami (d. Rachael Lucas, 2004)
Wow! This movie was great! Not much of a story - all visuals and music. I loved the music. I bought the soundtrack. The editing in the movie is phenonmal. I so want to learn to edit now. 7.5/10
This Is Spinal Tap (d. Rob Reiner, 1984)
Cool mockumentary! Had some pretty funny scenes. You can tell 'The Office' got lots of inspiration from this. 7/10
Breaking The Waves (d. Lars von Trier, 1996)
Hard hitting movie! Quit disturbing at times but done very well. Interesting ending. 7/10
The Color Of Money (d. Martin Scorsese, 1986)
I loved this movie! So 80s yet so classy. Paul Newman is so cool! I can't wait to watch this one again! 8.25/10
The Last Temptation Of Christ (d. Martin Scorsese, 1988)
I didn't like Passion and this one was pretty similar until the last 3rd. Very slow and boring especially because I don't follow religion. Some nice scenes but overall not my thing. 5/10
The Fog Of War (d. Errol Morris, 2003)
Entertaining documentary about USA in wars. Some interesting points raised but I expected more. 6/10
Angel Baby (d. Michael Rymer, 1995)
Very sad movie. Great acting. I like my Melbourne movies! Good little Aussie ripper. 6.5/10
The Fog (d. John Carpenter, 1980)
Wow! VERY atmospheric. Awesome intro too! John Carpenter is one of my favourite directors now. 8/10
The Big Chill (d. Lawrence Kasdan, 1983)
Very very good soundtrack but rather slow for these times. Good character studies though. 6/10
Love, Honour and Obey (d. Dominic Anciano, Ray Burdis, 2000)
This movie didn't know if it wanted to be a comedy or action. Some very funny scenes but too similar to Snatch for my liking. 6/10
