i've decided to become a lot more eljay proactive. i figure it's the best way of filling in time when i should be working. this means posting more as well as reading more - so does anyone have any journals they want to recommend?
i've been reading a lot of fashion blogs, and it's really making me want to show off my outfits, but i could never be that narcissistic. and it's so much EFFORT- how do these people have the time? they're great though, i could spend hours reading / stealing outfit ideas from them.
melbourne is very grey and very dark and very rainy today. it's meant to be spring soon but i can't see much evidence for that! i love the rain though; it makes me wish that i worked in a prettier part of the city. queen street is all office blocks and ugly people. i love tramming through middle park and albert park on a cold grey morning on the other hand; all the bare trees and beautiful old terrace houses makes it easier to put up with the ugly ugly cbd.
i'm going to see my friend's band (dreaming of ghosts - check them out. crazy psychedelic stuff) with the boy and my friend stewie tonight. they get on ridiculously well so i'll probably be ignored by them both all night. wishing it was the weekend already.

There's gonna be a new Bloc Party record. Such a surprise when it was announced a few days ago! I was all 'WTF?' when I found out. But still, it's bloody exciting! Can't wait to hear it.

ZOMG. OWEN FUCKING PALLETT IS COMING TO AUSTRALIA! He said he was planning to come after someone on his forum asked whether he was playing with Arcade Fire when they came down for BDO, and yay! He actually is. Hopefully he'll play a small, intimate sideshow so we can all bask in the presence of his violin and his loops.
I should let me friend know that MGMT are playing at Meredith. She wanted to get tickets, but her boyfriend was too lazy to wake up at 9 and before they knew it, the show was sold out. Apparently it did so in 4 minutes! Thank goodness for presales!
Pyramid Rock Festival is rather meh. But hopefully Bret will tour with the Black Seeds...YIS! Haha.
Definitely looking forward to summer.

life: it's okay. it really is.
i put lots of effort into the clothes i wear to work. heels and lacy stockings and brooches. i meet friends for after work beers and laughs. marita and i eat chocolate and sneakily watch our other housemate's foxtel before he gets home from work. i have early nights in a lamp lit room under the covers with a bottle of cheap red and a book. i buy boots and cigarette cases and kitsch little dolls off ebay. i go see bands play. the boy and i kiss for hours. we plan early morning weekend trips to country flea markets. i'm going to buy a bike with a basket and cycle down by the beach and to the south melbourne market when the days get longer.
i can't complain. it really is all okay.
