Remember, we are citizens of the United States of America, which was founded on these types of ideas:

Remember what this country is about people! And don't let our government control us! Our government is here to serve us, not control us! Once people forget that, it's easier for others who are running things in the government to take all our freedoms and rights away from us! Don't let that happen!

North American Army created without OK by Congress
U.S., Canada military ink deal to fight domestic emergencies

In a ceremony that received virtually no attention in the American media, the United States and Canada signed a military agreement Feb. 14 allowing the armed forces from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a domestic civil emergency, even one that does not involve a cross-border crisis.

The agreement, defined as a Civil Assistance Plan, was not submitted to Congress for approval, nor did Congress pass any law or treaty specifically authorizing this military agreement to combine the operations of the armed forces of the United States and Canada in the event of a wide range of domestic civil disturbances ranging from violent storms, to health epidemics, to civil riots or terrorist attacks.

In Canada, the agreement paving the way for the militaries of the U.S. and Canada to cross each other's borders to fight domestic emergencies was not announced either by the Harper government or the Canadian military, prompting sharp protest.

"It's kind of a trend when it comes to issues of Canada-U.S. relations and contentious issues like military integration," Stuart Trew, a researcher with the Council of Canadians told the Canwest News Service. "We see that this government is reluctant to disclose information to Canadians that is readily available on American and Mexican websites."

The military Civil Assistance Plan can be seen as a further incremental step being taken toward creating a North American armed forces available to be deployed in domestic North American emergency situations.

The agreement was signed at U.S. Army North headquarters, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, by U.S. Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, commander of NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, or USNORTHCOM, and by Canadian Air Force Lt. Gen. Marc Dumais, commander of Canada Command.

"This document is a unique, bilateral military plan to align our respective national military plans to respond quickly to the other nation's requests for military support of civil authorities," Renuart said in a statement published on the USNORTHCOM website.

"In discussing the new bilateral Civil Assistance Plan established by USNORTHCOM and Canada Command, Renuart stressed, "Unity of effort during bilateral support for civil support operations such as floods, forest fires, hurricanes, earthquakes and effects of a terrorist attack, in order to save lives, prevent human suffering an mitigate damage to property, is of the highest importance, and we need to be able to have forces that are flexible and adaptive to support rapid decision-making in a collaborative environment."

Lt. Gen. Dumais seconded Renuart's sentiments, stating, "The signing of this plan is an important symbol of the already strong working relationship between Canada Command and U.S. Northern Command."

"Our commands were created by our respective governments to respond to the defense and security challenges of the twenty-first century," he stressed, "and we both realize that these and other challenges are best met through cooperation between friends."

The statement on the USNORTHCOM website emphasized the plan recognizes the role of each nation's lead federal agency for emergency preparedness, which in the United States is the Department of Homeland Security and in Canada is Public Safety Canada.

The statement then noted the newly signed plan was designed to facilitate the military-to-military support of civil authorities once government authorities have agreed on an appropriate response.

As WND has previously reported, U.S. Northern Command was established on Oct. 1, 2002, as a military command tasked with anticipating and conducting homeland defense and civil support operations where U.S. armed forces are used in domestic emergencies.

Similarly, Canada Command was established on Feb. 1, 2006, to focus on domestic operations and offer a single point of contact for all domestic and continental defense and securities partners.

In Nov. 2007, WND published a six-part exclusive series, detailing WND's on-site presence during the NORAD-USNORTHCOM Vigilant Shield 2008, an exercise which involved Canada Command as a participant.

In an exclusive interview with WND during Vigilant Shield 2008, Gen. Renuart affirmed USNORTHCOM would deploy U.S. troops on U.S. soil should the president declare a domestic emergency in which the Department of Defense ordered USNORTHCOM involvement.

In May 2007, WND reported President Bush, on his own authority, signed National Security Presidential Directive 51, also known as Homeland Security Presidential Directive 20, authorizing the president to declare a national emergency and take over all functions of federal, state, local, territorial and tribal governments, without necessarily obtaining the approval of Congress to do so.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $1.60 billion per day since September 30, 2005!

It is amazing to me that the US National Debt has skyrocketed so ridiculously high in so few years. But it just goes to show what kind of mess incompetence can create. I was going to say something about "a fool and his money" but the Fools are spending Our money, American citizens money! I don't know how they could spend so much money or how they will be stoped but it has got to stop! This country can not AFFORD to go in debt anymore!

Do you think, if each person in America just sends all the money they make this next year to the National Treasury, we will actually be solvent once more? Sure, we will all have to starve ourselves in order to do it but maybe it will be worth it, huh? Okay, maybe not. LOL!

Anyway, I'm just sick of seeing how much money this country doesn't have to spend and yet see the government spending it anyway! I will likely never see a million dollars in my bank account, let alone a trillion or eight. It's a little mind bogling to think that our government has been spending that much money on their foolish pursuits.

I have a better idea. Since they are spending the money anyway, why not just pay each citizen in this country say $30,000.00 this next year instead of spending it on wars and other stupid things like that. Then each citizen could decide what that money should be used for on their own. It would definitely go to better things than our government has been spending even if it's all spent frivolously.

Well, it may not be too likely Viggo will see this wish for a happy birthday from me but I am writing it anyway. Viggo Mortensen turned 48 today. Yep, two more years and he will be officially "over the hill." And yet I still want him. Why can't I just find a guy my age that is somewhat like him and be done with it? Oh well.

I still hope he has a wonderful birthday wherever he is today, which is likely with his family in NY, now that his son is off in college there. I hope they all enjoy the day, since Mr Mortensen has to run of to Europe next month to do yet another movie...

It seems like all people involved in politics or in watching politics can do these days is attack each other in banal, moronic, name-calling ways. It is sick to me that there is so much hate in this country simply because someone decides to call themselves a Democrat, Republican, Liberal, etc. Political parties were never meant to be used as a means of bashing your fellow American with hateful words! But whenever I do a search on Google these days regarding anything political, I just see awful messages of hate directed toward other Americans who happen to have differing political viewpoints.

Why has our country been reduced to this? What happened to this Democratic Republic called America being a government of the people, by the people, for the people? Whatever happend to the sentiment of, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free," that is on the Statue of Liberty? Maybe that statement should be taken off the great statue. Perhaps a new statement should be added. Something about hate and revenge and loss of rights and war. That seems to be all Americans involved in politics focus on, by and large, today. And we can take the Statue of Liberty's torch and replace it with a sword or maybe an uzi.

Or maybe, instead, we can all take a step back, take a deep breath, count to ten if you have to, and loosen up about things. The world is not all black and white, good and evil, right and wrong. And neither are members of political parties, no matter which "side" they are on! The world is full of wonderous variety! And that variety is what this "great nation" was founded on! It is one of the founding principles that used to set this nation apart from others! America is about tolerance and freedom and equality. Or at least the America I believe in is.

This new America that is being created among todays politicians and other influential people is not an America I can fully believe in. It is an America about fear and mistrust and hating your neighbors and intolerance. It is an America where the Bill of Rights means nothing anymore. It is an America where the rights of Americans have no meaning. The only right that matters anymore is the political Right and anyone that disagrees with them is labeled as anti-American and as a traitor. And we all know what rights traitors and "enemy combatants" have in this country now!

I want to somehow make ALL Americans wake up and see the travisty that is taking place right now! I want somehow to make ALL Americans realize that what we are loosing is much greater than what we are gaining. I want to somehow make ALL Americans see the road we are going down before it is too late! I want to somehow make ALL Americans step up and say, "NO! Not in MY country!"

But will this happen? I don't know. With all the hate that is brewing in the hearts of certain Americans these days, it is hard to believe. But despite their hatred and moronic name-calling, I still want to believe that we can all recover from this and get back to the America I believe in.

Well, it seems someone finally decided to make my wonderful name into that of a Super Hero. It just cracks me up! "It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Jenny Johnson!" If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you too haven't heard about the new movie that came out this summer called My Super Ex-Girlfriend, wherein Uma Thurman (good actress, btw) plays G-Girl, aka Jenny Johnson, a super hero girl that is dealing with a break up and not taking it all too well.

I just found out about the movie and thought it was so funny, that I had to share. Although, I don't think this is a movie I am likely to see any time soon. It looks kind of hokey and I don't like the idea of the title character with my name turning into a psycho bitch over being dumped. No, I'll probably catch it late some evening when nothing else is on and it happens to be playing on Starz. Otherwise, I could care less. But I am still a bit tickled that a Super Hero now bears my name. Right up there with Clark Kent now, huh? ;-)

I feel like it's my responsibility to pass this information along. I came to find out that there are several versions and they are all posted at Joe's own website (along with various other versions of the song).
