BSG - The Ties that Bind

Comments = love!

Holy smokes, tonight's episode was one of the best ever. This is like Boomer shooting Adama level of greatness.

I used to not like Cally - first couple seasons she was a rather cliche one-dimensional Little Sidekick with a Crush on her Big Brother-like Figure. But I really warmed to her in those webisodes between season 2 and 3 - she really grew as a character who thought beyond her crushing on Tyrol. She cared about Nikki, she cared about keeping her family safe. Tonight's episode was just so gut-wrenching, even before the last ten minutes. It's bad enough trying to raise a kid on Galactica in post-apocalyptic environment, but having to do it alone has got to be hellish - I can't blame her for falling apart. And to think: her last thoughts were probably that Tyrol was an Evil!Cylon all along. :(

I do have one quip: which is that Cally was willing to hand Tory the baby - that seemed a little too trusting.

So is Tory evil now? I was sure she was, but my mum thought that Tory was just desperate to keep the Final Four's secret. I don't buy her argument but I'm throwing it out there. I think Tory was pretty sweet on the Chief in that bar - she might want him for herself. Also that Ambrosia was what she was drinking last week with Baltar and his Baltar groupies, no? (I remember the color). Maybe it's some sort of hypno-juice - it would explain Baltar's cult.

Oh, and MORE TOM ZAREK PLEASE! You cannot have enough of Zarek. Tom Zarek is the voice of reason. Especially with Lee. They are OTP gold. Plus every line, every shot of his face is perfection on the part of Richard Hatch - he acts each scene like it's his last - he IS Tom Zarek.

I am confused though: wasn't Zarek the one behind the Star Chamber Air Lockings, not Roslin? (which never made sense to me in the first place, but, whatever).

Oh, and the Centurions are totally going to rebel once they get tired of being stuck with Cleaning-Blood-Out-of-the-Carpet Duty.

And Cavil wins love for his chilling, "We're machines, dear, remember: we don't have souls" line. I frakking love him.
