BSG - 3.05 (?) - Torn

Torn

On the Baseship....

So is it safe to assume Baltar isn't a Cylon since he didn't catch the cyon-plague? He better be human or his character is worthless....*grumbles*

Interesting about the projection though - Head!Six said it would be important to know about...hmmm...any ideas? It certainly makes the We!Hate!Epileptics!Walls less menacing for the cylons...and still irritating as hell for us mortals.

Baltar strangles a Six? That seemed to push it a little for me - I mean, seriously, he could have just walked away - she wasn't going to chase after him. Although it was worth the freakiness to see Gaius go from the attempts to comfort and help her to choking the life out of her.

Question: What pills were Baltar taking on New Caprica? When I saw him popping them with the booze in 2.20 I assumed he was either abusing a) some form of tranquilizers or antidepressants  - which I could see him getting a legitimate perscription for....or, b) heavy narcotics with the outright intent to get stoned fast...I ask because Gaeta's comment while going over Baltar's work to find Earth that 'at first I thought he was off his meds' makes me wonder if he was taking antipsychotics for the hallucinations. It looked like he hadn't seen Head!Six for awhile when the Cylons attacked in 2.20. But then again, the Cylons gave him his pills back and he's still hallucinating.

and Galactica....

Kara was so mean to Kasey! What a heartwrenching scene! I'm so glad she went and made friends again in the end. She should grovel to Anders next.

I really liked it when Papadama went down to the mess hall and threw down some smack. Stupid Kara and Saul - everyone likes to think that their tragedy is the worst, that anyone who tries to compare sufferings is dissing you or lessening the tragedy. Yes, you had it worse on New Caprica - when Kat said she et al had sacrificed too she wasn't aiming to diminish you but empathize. Jeesh. People.

Man, whoever wrote those admonitions towards Starbuck and Tigh - ouch, esp Kara: calling her a cancer and a malcontent, saying she's not his daughter anymore. Woah, he was pissed. Didn't work so well with Tigh though - I was seriously afraid he was going to blow his own head off when he told Adama he wouldn't see him again.

What is Tigh gonna do? He said that Sane!Tigh was dead. I hope he doesn't turn completely evil and crazed, because that would suck. More Tigh emo angst is fine - but where's it going to lead? He's so haunted by Ellen - I can't blame him for that - I think it was a big mistake to kill her: that's what you get Saul, when you listen to what the others tell you to do (ie killing Ellen): empty quarters and a mouthful of ashes. And on top of it all, he's got no more depth perception.

Oh - and I don't like Sharon's callsign. 'Athena' - goddess of war and wisdom - is a little broad and doesn't really fit. She should have something more specific, like Prometheus.

I'm a total comment whore - let me know what you think :)

Baltar strangling a Six kind of works for me, because I think it shows that while Baltar is very attracted to the Sixes still, he's also scared to death of them and of what he's done.

Totally agree with you about 'Athena.' I wonder what ever happened to Boomer.

Good call. Head!Six can be pretty frightening too when she wants to be - and physical too.

I don't know if I like Baltars crap that much. The projection thing is kinda silly to me, I don't know what purpose it has. The sickness thing is very intriguing though. I really really hope that Sharon doesn't die or anything from the sickness (should we start calling her Athena now? I think it should have been Persephone- playing both sides kinda thing). For some reason, I got the feeling that the humans might take in some of the sick cylons- maybe attempt to cure them just so that adama can save his 'new daughter' Athena.

OMG I love Kara. I would have been sooooo pissed at the show if they had not tried to put her together in the end. I absolutely loved the hair-cutting scene, and the hug, the beautiful hug. She should get Anders back and have a baby of her own, I would love to see her with a kid to protect. I think it could bring out the worst AND the best in her character, and end up really showing us how good Kara can be way down deep.

Still hate that Kara and Apollo never had any sort of reunion. They haven't even had a real talk or anything. I wonder what the fight was about to estrange them so completely??! Apollo- oh my goodness funny! It was so completely hilarious that he managed to drop the pounds soooo quickly, and I loved the comment of -Remind me to never let that happen again-. hehehehe

Adama- I agree, very harsh but still awesome speechwriting- I loved it!
Also, can't wait to find out more about the five cylon models that are not spoken of. What could they have done?! Maybe they were traitors in the human war against the cylons way back, and are now incorporated into the human ranks. BUT then the whole human-cylon baby phenomena would be long since done.,..I would expect. Maybe it goes the other way and the five are crazy radical, human-killing monsters that had been exiled- but then they probably would have wanted in during the whole mass-genocide of humans thing.

Do the Cylons still have a plan? Really, they have lost a lot of scare-factor and power, although they ARE still intriguing. But its more intriguing like you wonder what will happen to them, and not what they are going to do.

Enough for now, talk to you later hun!!

There you go! I hope they find some way to dig him out of the whole he is in? Any ideas, or speculation on what they might do?

I also don't care about tigh- but for you, courtney, he can live I suppose!

I think that the call sign is actually pretty cool. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Now that Sharon is Adama's new daughter, she is Apollo's sister----- and that is sooo Athena! Also, Athena is the goddess of wisdom, and Sharon could end up knowing a whole lot about each side, empathizing with both cylon and human. There was another name that someone yelled out when they were trying to figure it out that I liked better, but I can't quite remember what it was. But I like Athena for the brother-sister-father relationship thing (although Apollo and Sharon better start chumming it up, or my theory is silly). - Now I should stop procrastinating and write that Rome paper...
