I went to the Harry Potter exhibition at the ArtScience Museum yesterday. It was really packed, understandably, it was the first day and we took the first (10am) slot. Later we found out that only the 10am was sold out so taking any of the other timeslots throughout the day would probable have made for a much more comfortable and less packed visit. Anyway, the exhibition itself was really fun and interesting. It featured set props from the movies, largely the 1-3 movies. There were some hands-on exhibits - I particularly enjoyed trying to pull out the mandrake plants. But I would've loved more of hands-on exhibits, or at least to be able to get on the train instead of just walking past it.
We only took about 1.5 hours to go through the whole exhibition. The last stop was the gift shop, but I cant say I was impressed with the items; found them to be too expensive - $40 for a simple linen tote bag. My friends bought the Bertie Botts jellybeans ($6 a box) so I managed to try some. Be warned though, the jellybeans flavours - as in the book - contains crazy flavors. Effs and sheens tried the vomit and black pepper jellybeans, and eeks, the flavours are true to their name! ;) Had a good laugh about it though. It would be a good idea for a prank, hehe
Anyway, the exhibition tickets are only $24 so I would recommend it. The main museum gift shop also has items from the Titanic exhibition. I thought the Titanic tote bags were more colorful and eyecatching, and better quality since it was patent leather. Definitely a good trip to make on a weekend. :)
