Thanks for the videos...I've been reading up on him a bit, and he's seemingly as entertaining and witty as he is talented. I think I'll try to catch him live sometime.

Also wish I had enough knowledge of Chopin to fully appreciate the second video.

if you like that style of music, you might find this pianist - rian de waal - playing a godowsky strauss paraphrase interesting.



( terrible video, audio barely passable, but amazing playing. )

and since we're on pianists, are you familiar with horowitz?

I'm not very knowledgeable of pianists, to be fair, but I have heard of Horowitz.... He must be one of the better known pianists of this century, given the frequency with which I've encountered his catalog.

Currently a bit obsessed with Ivo Pogorelic, after a chance encounter last year.

i've not been able to warm up to pogo, though he can do some amazing things with color and time. what was your encounter?
