I follow the recipe to the letter.
But, instead of rising, in that little miracle that can only be achieved by yeast or Jesus Christ, this mass of "dough" sits there in that bowl, looking at me with its lumpy, flacid face, in quiet rebellion of this woman who dares to attempt to make bagels out of him.
Should it not rise within the next half hour, I will have to resurrect it myself through unconventional ways not recommended by the whores of RecipeSource.com.
I'll invent something new.
Yeast cookies.
There SHALL be yeast cookies.
