Oh god, on Monday I got the email from my High School class president stating that our 10 year reunion would be at the end of November. Holy shit! I'm about 80% sure I'm going to go but I need to look fabulous. I'm shallow, I admit it! I'll be celebrating my 8 year wedding anniversary that week as well and I want all those punks to know that shy-ass Lindsey is actually happily married, thank you very much!
Soooo my issue is fabulosity. I want to look great, a bit dressed up but not like I'm trying to hard. Kinda sexy but not overtly so. I'm down to a size 16/18 now and should be about a 14/16 by then. Anyone have any idea's? I love Anthropologie's stuff but it's kinda frumpier than I want. Looked on Banana Republic and Gap and found nothing. I was thinking a rockin' fitted jean w/ an amazing top and shoes, maybe like this?

My 10 year reunion was a couple weeks ago...I skipped it because anyone I want to see from high school I am still friends with (like 4 people) and anyone else I don't give a shit about. But Matt's 20th (!!) is next year and I think he wants to go to that so I too will need to fabulize myself so they think Matt lucked out! HA.
ANYWAY. I think you have the perfect idea about a pair of sleek, fitted jeans and a sexy top. I LOVE the color of that top. I also love the middle shoes of that grouping on the right there...You are gonna look SMOKING!
And please allow me to share with you my own teeny victory in the fat battle...I needed new jeans and I've been in an Old Navy 20 since June was born, so I went to Old Navy yesterday and tried on a pair of 20s and they were WAY too big. So I went down to an 18 and they were a little loose! But still comfy so I got them. I am wearing them today and they have grown super baggy throughout the day so I am wondering if it's possible that I squeeze my fat-ass into a 16??? I don't think so but I am tempted to try. It might just be the cut of these or something...BUT it appears that since I've been going to the gym for 2 months and stopped drinking non-diet soda and using splenda in place of sugar in all my other drinks, that I have gone down like a pants-size and a half! I wish I was losing it quicker, but I am excited and it keeps me encouraged to keep working out! I am so excited for you too! I cant believe you'll be a 14/16 in November!!! That is SO SO AWESOME!
Dude Old Navy tends to run a bit big I've noticed. I've found that there jeans totally stretch out when your wearing them too :) My 18's are a bit loose so on Friday tried on the Old Navy 16's (in each of the 3 fits) and they were all waaaay to snug. Walked down to the Gap put on there 16's and they fit perfect!
really??? That is so weird, I always thought Gap ran smaller than Old Navy! I'm wearing that "sweetheart fit" and I think it fits OK around the waist I guess but the thighs and butt are SO BAGGY they are driving me nuts! Maybe I will check out the gap! Thanks!
I always thought so too, I was shocked when I pulled them on and they fit :) I'm a fan of the O.N. Sweetheart fit too, the other lower ones gape at the waist on me :(
1) it's good to hear from you. i've been wondering where you've been hiding. LJ misses you.
2) good choices! i think exactly what you have is trendy/modern enough to look totally up to date and HAWT without looking prom-worthy-fancy, you know? (but this is coming from someone who knows NEXT TO NUTHIN about fashion and would rather dress like a 40's housewife to every event if possible). ;)
my 10 year is in a couple years. i can't wait...but i dont want to talk to anyone, just peer at them curiously! terrible!
Duuude I've been around :) Trying to get back into the swing of things here in LJ-land. Posted last week w/ pic's of my sexy dog in Boston.
You should totally try maxstudio.com-- they have awesome flowy tops and have a lot of sizes (i love them!) they've got a great sale section too!
Oooh thanks for the tip, I'll check them out after Storytime :)

Big Congrats on loosing weight! Not an easy things to do...
Love what you have! Have you checked out some of the dresses at Anthropologie? I picked up one last night for a special occassion- I noticed a lot of people thought they were frumpy but when I tried them on they so are not... I just love most of the styles they carry! But I am also into that "fitted" baby doll style (if you see a dress like that you can add a belt high, like an empire style, or lower around your hips- wear it slouchy), and most can go over jeans...
My MAJOR fashion tips: wear heels! They make you look so much longer/leaner and bootcut jeans look fab with heels. Plus, if you decide to wear a dress, heeled boots are great! Also, layer... layering works so well. You can wear a top like what you have above (or short dress/tunic) over jeans, and then a cute bolero style jacket, sweater or something (anthro has tons of these, and online check out the sale stuff). Layers also hide what you want to hide, but doesn't come across as if you have anything to hide. Gosh, I love clothes!!!
Anyway, let us know what you go with!!! Good luck!

i love it, i think that would look super sexy and yet not overly dressed up. :) have a great time!! i was super shy in high school too, but i've gotten over it. didn't really get a chance to prove it at my ten year because very few peeps remembered me. haha! i was REALLY quiet in h.s. :D | |
