Last week Joelene's DVD drive crapped out on her. Today my faithful CD Rom died. Rest in peace, little buddy. If I can't fix you, your successor will be a mighty one just as you have been.
We played many games together. Oh well, I can use my DVD-Combo drive for now.
*weeps*

And wtf is up with my compy? Last night I started getting reverb through the speakers. I'm listening to "Guilty" by Gravity Kills, and Jeff Scheel's vocals sound like he's singing into a 50 ft. long piece of PVC pipe, though the bass is a nice improvement. I already checked all my settings. I gotta fix this fast. Very Obnoxious.

- Said router won't boot my main machine, xombibox offline during Xbox Live. *glee*
- Guest DJ'ing at The Underground on new years eve (so come one, come all!).
- Haven't even started xmas shopping yet. *feels the burn*
- Currently addicted to Joke Jay, The Cure, Converter, Oingo Boingo, and Nightcrawler by The Retrosic.
- Luke's xmas gift has taken 6-8 weeks to get here, and still no show.
- I'm currently craving sushi.
- Realised that I haven't bought a new DVD in about a month! =O
- Running out of things to type.
- Gonna play Gears of War now. *cheers*

Both have everything to do with Universal's W14 sub-label.
If Siouxsie and Level 42 have already prepared new material for this record label, I'm not going to be suprised that The Sisters will finally return. I think I'll mark the occasion by touching up the old Sisters of Mercy device tatooed on my shoulder.

2007 is going to be a very interesting year.

"Every now and then, the gothic network is waking up with cheers as a new album and single from Sisters Of Mercy is being announced. Also last week this was the case as several mailinglists announced a new album and single from the UK cult act. Allas, once again it was a rehashing of the good old news that has been on the band's official webpage for ages now. But what the rumours did not tell was that apparently the band would be negociating with the brand new Universal sublabel W14 Music. It was a source close to the label who informed us that the band was contacted and that talks had started. For your info, W14 Music will become the vehicle for Universal to re-launch old glories such as Siouxsie or Level 42 on a larger scale. Siouxsie will release a new album on W14 Music, next year. For Sisters Of Mercy it might be their best shot ever to get back into the public's attention. The band has not released any new material since 1993's "Under the Gun". The band did not reply to questions from the editorial staff. More news as we get it confirmed."

"We've received confirmation from two separate sources that Night of the Living Dead Director George A. Romero collapsed last week and was hospitalized. No word yet on the reason for the collapse, but it doesn't look good as the start date for Diary of the Dead has been pushed back two months. In addition, he has also canceled his personal appearances for the next couple of months, therefor he won't be appearing at Eerie or Shock and Rock. Inside we have a little note from Chris Roe that gives a little more confirmation to this horrible news. All of our best goes out to George and his family. Get well soon!!"

Bought a Virgin Mobile phone the other day for $200.00.
I thought the plan sucked big time... 2 days of use as a pay as you go costed nearly $10.00, given I bought a "Halloween" midi ringtone for $2.50. I took it back today, sucks though it was a sweet ass phone.

...So what did I do with the rest of my afternoon in between jobs?
I grabbed a few DVDs that I don't currently don't have time to watch:
Halloween - The extended Edition, The Hills Have Eyes (2005), and what I'm prematurely calling the gem of my collection, -just from the title of the film: Motor Home Massacre.
In my vast experience of watching shitty horror, with a movie title like that it HAS to be fucking awesome!

I fell asleep watching The Twilight Zone, the "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" Episode.
I believe this is my first nightmare due to watching something. Wow, that was horrible.

After work today I decided to buy a few used DVD's from the local pawn shop. I ended up grabbing Two Evil Eyes(George A. Romero/Dario Argento), Fangoria's Blood Drive(again) and Visitor Q(Takashi Miike).
I also Intended on grabbing Takashi Miike's "Full Metal Yakuza" as well, but this new employee that moved here from Vancouver totally rented it on me, promising to toss me an email as soon as he brings it back =P

...Aaaanyways, I was itching to see some more of Takashi Miike's films after reading an article in the latest Rue Morgue Magazine.

I Got home, watched Two Evil Eyes, which was quite bland so I threw in Visitor Q.

...I was quite disturbed to say the least.
I mean, wow. Ichi The Killer, Imprint and Audition were pushing the Envelope, but this film takes the cake.
I'll just let a review I read explain my feelings towards this movie:
"I would never watch it with my mom. I wouldn't with my girlfriend either. Visitor Q is great with friends and beer but only once in a while."

I like extreme horror, but the graphic and sexual nature of this movie was a little over the top for my tastes.
It took me a week or so to get into the groove to watch Ichi The Killer. I started to focus on the story(which was quite deep) rather than the graphic nature of the film and found that it was fantastic, like Audition which was a little touching.

As for Visitor Q, I think it might have to collect a little dust before I decide to give it another try. Maybe I'll bring it to Joel & Rachelle's place. They're into the extreme shit.
Meh, I guess next week I'll check out Full Metal Yakuza.

- There was no Front Line Assembly concert this Canada Day so Joelene and I got smashed at Larry's place for a BBQ shindig.
Awesome, awesome time. Joel and I, in our drunken misguided "Adventure Mode", decided to take a diffrent route to the fireworks at Diefenbaker Park than the rest of our group - through the rough dense bushes to takle nature one-on-one with a side order of surly Ass-Kickery. I walked into the sloping brush while Joel ran in behind me. I slipped and fell in - Joel hit a 90° slope while running and fell ass-deep into a thorn bush, lol what an dork. We ended up retardedly scratched up and after a few wrong turns we got to see the end of our city's fireworks display which could have been compared to lighting one's ass while passing gas. =P

The next day, I went to work the day job at Chianti's and checked out Tramp's for this rumoured CD sale that I've been hearing about. They got some backstock in from another store in town that failed and was selling their entire inventory, and any CDs that was deemed unsellable(minor scuffs & scratches) were tossed into a massive $1.00 bin.
...To say the least, I scored big time. Here's what I got for $12.00 after two visits:

After finding a buttload of awesome CDs for scratch,
I hit up the Sunday Flea Market, hoping to score those 1980's pinkish/chrome "Max Headroom" shades with the die-cut slits across the lenses, but the old man that was selling his junk decided to close shop early and ditched before I could get there. so I bought a Slurpee and visited Joel & Rachelle to Play some Xbox and check out Jeff's Robot Chicken Season 1 set. I left at around 5:30 to check out the new Transit System. They need a new Slogan:

Took me 2 hours to get home on the sunday scedule. That bit some serious monkey dick.

Joelene and I went on to do coffee with Mac, Ernesto and Rosa and we had a nice evening, we followed it up with kicking some Combine ass in Half-Life²: Aftermath. We finished it finally and are eagerly awaiting to hopefully meet the G-Man in Episode 2.

Today, Joelene went to work, and I spent my day off so far picking up the other batch of $1.00 CDs, and I bought Saskatoon's last copy of The Alphabet of Manliness by Maddox(www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net)
There was 4 copies of the book on hold, 22 on backorder, and I just picked up the final one at McNally Robinson after calling every book store in the city. It was worth it.

I had an really awesome weekend, and I really came to appreciate my one day off today. I think I'm going to talk to chase and tell him that after 6 years of DJing, next Underground will more than likely be my last event.

I need to get out more and enjoy my weekends. I miss spending time with people outside of a club environment on my weekend nights. I'm starting to finally see what I've been missing all summer long and I can realy use the time off to enjoy my one saturday from work(s).

I'll probably DJ Halloween events if Chase permits it, if not I'll just be a patron and have an awesome radical time like everyone else! =D
