`til death do us part.

I was on the phone with Tyler just now. And we were talking about marriage. Not between us... but about marriage in general.
Here's what happened.
See, I've always viewed marriage as something special. Like... making your vows to love this person, forever and ever, to hold them in sickness and in health... and y'know? In short- everything marriage was ever said to be, to me. Seeing Mr. Gardner at his wedding with Ms. Lowrie (Now Mrs. Gardner) was mind blowing... Because it was like... They're commiting their lives to each other, because they love each other. And they're going to have each other for the rest of their lives. And they're perfectly content with that.
Tyler's view on marriage is that it's just a label. Because why do you need a piece of paper to show that you are forever commited to a person? Because you're going to love them just the same tomorrow. And the day after. And the day after. And the day after you get married. So why get married? Because if the other person ends up having an affair, it's going to hurt more if your married.
But who's to say there's going to be an affair.

So I guess I'm just asking everyone's opinion. Is marriage truly something special, or just a title? Because I see where Tyler's coming from... But I also see where I'm coming from.

Damn. thats what my friend spike and i talked about, and thats exactly how he see's, and seriously, you shouldnt have to have a piece of paper confirm that your forever wiht this person, but comes the paper, comes the rights, the rights to visit them in places like the hospital, places like a hotel room, where she's on work and you get lonely and wanna see her. stuff like that. and that piece of paper pisses me off, because gays love each toher, but cant have that.cant visit their loved one in a hospital. or anything like that. it like saying "love isnt for you" which is bullshit. so i dont see marraige neccessary, but it is every little 8 year old girls dream.

well yeah marriage is sort of a label, like when people say your married, but youd miss out on a lot if you didnt get married cuz like theres that whole wedding thing and day you will remember the rest of your lives, and like if the other person does have an affair.... choke da bitch lol
