Seriously though, I absolutely love it here! I think when your main stress in life is orgainising a production of the Wizard of Oz involving 15 or so teenage girls there really isint much to complain about.. Sure the hours are WEIRD and I live with the people I work with (and for) but ... Its FUN!

Well I dont so I wouldnt know. I have been in the world of full time work now for ooooh 2 months and it has flown by - scary stuff! Annoyingly the internet where I work (and live) blocks LJ so I am sans entertainment and head-purge space most of the time :( This past week has been half-term which has been AWESOME but has flown by! I went to stay with Kate in london last weekend and met up with Alex in Camden on the Sunday which was nice. Went to Brad on the Weds to see J and people but ended up only really seeing J (which was nice :D - totally unexpected but....yeah...) On Fri I went out for a meal with some rugby girlies from Uni. Had a really great night despite not being too keen on going at first, oh and saw Pete Postlethwaite hailing a cab which was ACE!! Am so out of practice writing LJs, make me sad. Hopefully I will be able to find some internets in the South soon so I can post more (and read more fanfic - seriously... I think I have an addiction!!) |

Wow summer went fast! I'm off to Dorset in two hours until Christmas to start my new job - argh!
My last week at home has been fab, the kinda fab that makes it hard to leave...
Monday - went to pride with Alex and saw Alphabeat & Heather Small (oooh and Hannah I used to live with which was nice) It was ace though we had o leave early due to Alex having a broken foot and her mum getting ansty. Tuesday - I went to see Hell Boy 2 with my Mum and ate popcorn and nacho for tea - yum! Wednesday - went for tea with Julie, Mybri and Mum. Cant believe MB is back - was ace to be able to go out for a meal with her befor I move away (and she'll be back when I come back!!!) Thursday I got up at stupid oclock and went to Bradford to see Gemma for lunch. Was great to see her as always! I had text other people in Brad to see if they were about and so I also saw J (which made me smile as it was awesome!), Janet and Spanish. Gems went home with her sister so that eve I went for drinkies in the Westleigh with J, Janet and Spanish and ended up staying the night in Spring Place - lesigh.
Fri, I came home from Bradford and went out with Alex, Jane and Chris for a meal at the Bottle and Glass. YUM.
Yesterday in the morning I went shopping with my Grandma and Dad. After that I went to watch Saints in the Challenge Cup final at Joannes house with my family (on the TV) and to say bye to them ;'(

Today me & Alex went to Manc Pride :) We saw a Cher tribute, Alphabeat and (saving the best 'til last) HEATHER SMALL!! It was ace! We drank lots cider and ate lots chinese and danced lots infront of the main stage (which was ACE!)
Saw Phoenix from college and Hannah who I lived with at uni which was nice. Came home early coz Alex has a broken toe and is in work tomorrow. Wish I was still there though as I fancy a dance.
Instead I'm watching Grey's Anatomy with the cat waiting for the parentals to get in...
A week today I will have had my first day in my new job and my first full day in Dorset - EK! |

I *love* the Olympics!!
Went on a road trip with Tasha on Weds to Norfolk to see Jonny. Had a great time going to weird social clubs in West Winch, pubs in Kings Lynn and to the beach where I swam in the sea and Tash and Jonny put rocks in my bag.... Stayed until Fri arvo before driving home eating craisins and smoking a rolly cigarette that had been in Tasha's purse since the iron age, great fun.
Did mainly bog all yester in the day but stayed up in the wee hours with Dad watching the Women's marathon live.
Today went to the yard with Mum and rode Skittles. Jumped with Julie in the outdoor with some impromptu encouragement off Helen (and after being inspired by the Olympic Showjumping of course) Skits was ace and I wasnt too bad either...

^Firstly *squeezestheinternettochestwhilstsaying"donteverleavemeagain"repeatedly* (Seriously now, I went a day and a half without the internet and only one preloaded page of A/O fic which I read twice....it was *hard*!!!)
^Went to Dorset for the Graduate Resident Assistant interview at the international school in possibly the smallest village I have ever been too ever (including Crawford which is literally a road of seven houses and Pimbo which is a garden centre and a bridge). I can't really believe that I spent over ten hours on various trains and tubes for what amounted to a tour of a sports centre and a half hour interview..crazy!
The place was prettyful and the people friendly and I think that the interview went fairly well. I find out whether I get the job in a week or so I think. Means a wek or so to decide if I want to move to the South West for a year - could be an adventure!!
^I have a new ship to keep me occupied while I look for a job - Callie/Hahn of Grey's Anatomy fame is totally my new crack. I have it worse for them than I had for Olivia/Alex from L&O:SVU.

It's worthwhile! I have just done a silly thing and worked out a rough average for last year (worth 30%) of my degree but it has made me see that I need 5% more to be on a better grade... So no more complaining about revision from me! Nuhuh, no!
I only hope that my rather paltry effort at my Degradation essay doesnt completly feck me over.. I'll just have to kick ass in these exams....eep!

If you are me that is.
Seems my "is she flirting with me? Is there UST here? Am I just reading into things too much?" internal debate is justified.....
Having not wanted to question/divulge this to anyone for a while I am all about the sharing (to a degree in RL) now I have my answers.
Alcohol as per was the catalyst (and ALOT of it ) coupled with no food and the general relief/elation of handing in my dissertation led to some interesting developments on Monday night.... Good developments though :)
Monday was D-day.
Tuesday was the morning after the night before, waking up to "hmmm not my bed" and a suprisingly not-awkward morning in bed watching TV and gentley ribbing each other over the previous nights activities ("we sang WHAT on Kareoke?!" - Waterloo - excellent!) followed by the Spanish inquisition when I eventually made it back to my house.
Wednesday was today and lunch avec inuendo (and sans alcohol!) and now me being insufferably girly...should I just txt her again? Is it too much too soon? - the return of the internal monologue..
Thursday will be me not knowing what to do with myself until lunchtime when I will take her out to lunch and eventually work up the courage to kiss her again (or at least in my head I will)

At the moment I can't focus on anything productive which is an arse coz if I can write 2000 words before tonight then I can go out and go crazy. Or sleep. Some sleep would be good round about now....
It's effing boiling in the library and it certainly isnt doing anything to discourage me from having a nap!
The main thing stopping me from sleeping though is I am *excited* - petrified, yes but just ridiculously excited!!

I think it may be a little to late to invest in a dictaphone to help me write my dissertation (I had this "genius" plan about a month ago) but almost 5,000 words in with one writing week to go I am wondering if it would've been a huge help...
Not even 5, 000 words with a week to go! I have a note in my day planner from 2weeks ago that reads "5,000 words MIN of Dis done by today" - man I am SHITE at keeping to self-imposed deadlines!!!
What I am quite accomplised at by now, my *last*ever*timetabled*week*at*University* is reading fanfiction instead of doing any discernable work, blagging the fact that I have infact done some work and covering my panic at not doing enough work whilst not letting on to my absolute obsessive reading of litterary porn! - Quite the set of life skills have I.. (more on that later though, I feel it will be a good procrastination reflection post)
On the other hand paper is for whimps!! (thankyou Toby Ziegler) and I have a presentation in an hour and an oral cross-examination on Weds, time to put those hard-earned blagging skills into use!

It's dissertation time and I have all of two weeks "holiday" for easter to basically write 10, 000 words for it. I also have 2, 000 word essay to do which is worth 100% of a module AAaaaalso I have a lab report to do along with a presentation based on this report.

Got myself a new ship/ fandom interest which is purely based on the fics I have read and the pics I have seen.

Weekend diving was AWESOME! Dad came down and ended up doing shore cover which was really good and appreciated by everyone which was nice.
Me & Jonny rule as buddies. On our first dive we found a container (I have never been so excited in my life - I'm not even joking!!) and spent some time writing in the silt that was on it and having a small disco with my (ineffective) torch. Surfaced a little to quickly I think but we were only at 6m so not too much of a problem. Thought I was a genius when, on surfacing, I shouted "We found the C*NT" as the buoy we were next too had "CNT" written on it....and laughed and laughed....
Second dive with Shane and Jonny we decended down to where we thought the Van was (under a buoy marked "van") but unfortunately didnt find it. Saw a great big fish though which frightened the beejeesus out of me so I "shooed" it away.. Came back up after only a few mins as the vis was poor. On surfacing, my dad asked why we had gone down next to the buoy and then swum away from the shot line.... good job we came up as had no idea! Shane asked if I needed more weight coz I was up and down but I was under the impression that Shane was up and down and I was fine. Jonny confirmed this.
In the eve we all went to stay at the Park Hall hotel which backs onto Camelot - you could see the rides and the jousty bit out of my room!!! Too bad it was closed season :( Everyone piled round to our chalet (the girls one) to chat, drink tez and watch films - how very civilised of us. Was great to finally speak to all the members of the club.
On the sunday we were woke at some ungodly hour by a text off Shane (our fearless leader) and then we headed back to The Delph for more rubber-clad fun. Me and JB took it easy and dossed round drinking tea and deciding where to dive in the morn before choosing to re-visit the van and follow the line round to the APC. Took some fish food in with us which was gone by the time we decended. Jonny caught a fish in his bare hands which eased my fear of the scaled ones (phew). Decended down the shot line under the buoy to the van and scratched our names onto it when we found it, Jonny tried to steal the speedo but I discouraged him. Then his dive knife came undone from his leg and after some underwater sign-language improv, got me to tie it back on - best underwater knot EVER. Found a metal teapot and a mug tree which I arranged on the roof of the van before we continued to follow the rope around to the APC. This wasnt as exciting as the van imho, though motioning to Jonny to let the tyres down to have him respond by motioning to slash them was fairly comical. Ran out of time on the dive and the both of us had used up horrendous amounts of air so we followed the line back towards the van a little was before starting our accent up another shot line. Was WELL impressed when we both stopped at 6m for a deco stop - passed the three minutes dancing "night fever" style - (totally unplanned but delighted me when we both struck the exact same pose at the same time!) Surfaced far away from anything and had to surface swim back to the shore - knackering! Didnt have any inclination to do another dive and so got changed and helped everyone pack the gear into the miniboose for the journey home across the pennines. Was well impressed by my sense of direction getting us back to Bradford and so after putting all the kit away decided to go for a pint with JB to celebrate. Five pints and a fairly successful Pub Quiz later eventually got back home to catch up on sime sleep.
Tomorrow I am going to Leicester to see Gemma. I think I am quite mad but Han, Jen and Tash don't think it is a bad idea so I'm going. We both know where we stand and we get on brilliantly so.....yeah....its just a crazy random thing to do but oh well! Dont think I will be able to concentrate on anything 'til I get back anyhoo. Oh and it isnt common knowledge so it feels all the more clandestine and exciting...... |

Have been sat infront of my laptop all day reading about purple dye exrtracted from molluscs... All I ask for is a book about said subject so I can cast aside the technology and stop getting distracted by other, shinier things on the internet!!
I have made somewhat of a scrapbook with cut-outs and everything as my research...it looks more like a GCSE art file than a final year dissertation... Oh bollocks!
Off for tea with Gemma which should be nice aaaand then who knows *shrugs*... just as long as I dont end up tipsy like last night..
