Introduction

Right, I am aware that if I post on certain communities people will check out my journal to check me out before they reply, so I thought I ought to get some more stuff on here.

Hence an introduction:
My name is Kari Fay. I also use the name Morgana Fiolett, (which is my other LJ name, morgana_fiolett, but also my public craft name). I also have a private craft name which I use when I cast spells. This journal's awkward username came about because, quite honestly, violetmoon and violet_moon were taken, but since I will soon be trading under the name Violet Moon (craft stall and associated website) I feel quite entitled to use the phrase as my LJ name.

Mundane bit: I live in England, with two pet rats for company, in a small flat in a big city. I work as an administrator. Mundane bit over.

I consider myself to be Wiccan. I am not from a family tradition, I'm not Garderian or anything like that, I am an eclectic solitary self-initiate. And I know that could call down a lot of flak but quite frankly I don't care.

I believe Wicca draws upon ancient beliefs. I don't think it is an ancient belief. I think it's actually less than fifty years old. If somebody can prove to me that it's older then I will bow to superior knowledge, but so far the proof seems to be a little thin on the ground. And the air. Just generally quite trim.
So on the basis of the above, I don't like the term "Neo-Wicca", since it's all new. That's just, in my opinion, people trying to be cliquey.

My faith draws upon a real mixed bag:
Arthurian legend: This has fascinated me since I was very small.
Celtic mythology: I have both Irish and Welsh ancestry (which I know for a fact, as I've traced a pretty comprehensive family tree), so the Celtic blood runs in my veins... (how uber dramatic of me- never mind, you know what I mean)
Faerie- My surname is Fay. You figure out the attraction. No, seriously. It's also because my mother told me from a very early age that she thought the faeries had left me...That's bound to cause a fascination.
Gypsy- I have a restless and romantic spirit. I'm not of Gypsy blood, but their tales and their culture resonates very highly with me.
Norse mythology: My first name is Norwegian. My parents, although both English, met in Norway. I have always felt a strong connection with Norway and Norwegian culture.

I have considered myself to be Pagan since I was quite young, about eight or nine I think. I didn't really make a diary note of it, so this is a vague recollection.
I'm now, at the time of writing this, 25, and I've considered myself specifically Wiccan since about age 18. So, that's seven years. And I consider myself to be a learner. I think I'll still be learning when I'm 105, because if you consider that you have nothing more to learn then other people probably consider you to be conceited and arrogant.

My neck is really aching badly right now, so I shall post this much for now. More to follow.

Brightest Blessings

My original journal morgana_fiolett has turned out to be a little too mundane- that is, it's too much like an ordinary diary.
Therefore, I decided to set up a new journal for my Wiccan/Pagan groups, and where I can post my own thoughts and research etc. on pagan subjects.
A "Livejournal of Shadows" as it were. So here it is.

So far I haven't actually got around to posting anything here, I've just been using it to keep up with the groups I'm in. But once my mundane life settles down a bit, I shall start filling it up.
