The thing I love and miss about the dorms is the seemingly infinite supply of hot water. Sometimes I freak out and hate to shower. I will go as long as possible simply rinsing out my hair and re-applying deodorant. My record has been a week and four days. No one else seems to care; why should I? ...And then I freak out the other way and can't get clean enough. At home I have to shower once so my parents don't complain about the water bill and then go the rest of the day trying to satiate myself by washing my hands or something. At the dorms I can sit there in all that hot water, studying my toes, and when I feel clean I can get out. If I know in just a little while I'll want to shower again, I can sit there for four hours and no one gives a damn because it is college and who cares if the girl thinks it perfectly normal to wash her hair nine times a day, but will go a month without shaving her legs. It makes me worth getting to know, apparently. I think I am ready to take on next semester. If you give me the next two weeks to think about it, I might change my mind. Also, I caught myself making my new year's resolution something along the lines of "lose weight," but I don't know why. I haven't gained weight at all, and the boy with whom I'm sleeping doesn't seem to mind the weight I've got--not that he matters; he's just the only other person who sees me naked and would perhaps comment upon it. So, I changed it to "solve the AIDS crisis." And then I gave up on resolutions and thought about joining the Peace Corps. Ha.

I am mostly packed except for some things with which I simply do not know what to do. Small momentos or pictures or trinkets that I can't throw away, but can't take with me. I feel bad, because even with five boxes and a basket worth of crap packed, my room still looks very much untouched. I bought a caaaaar today. And it's not just any car, no! It is a brand new 2005 Neon. It is red. It has a spoiler. It is a space ship! I am way excited. Exciiited. Its name is Fabio.

So, Okie tagged me, and now I must fill this out or face her livejournal wrath of DOOM (doom doom doom doom).

1. I am a clutz. A huge one. It is a boring reason, but if there is a way to hurt myself, break something, or fall in public, I will manage it.

2. I organize everything. Alphabetically. And by date. I also like patterns, so I make sure everything in a category follows the same one. When I'm done with this, I'll go through and make sure the numbered paragraphs have the same amount of lines between them.

3. I am a miser. I hate spending money for things not vital (like broccoli and cheddar soup bowls from Panera!) and do so rarely. In fact, I started a savings account at the age of 13 for my first house. I skipped buying clothes for a year so I could put money in said account; when my mother found out she made me close it and spend all of it on jeans. Which sucks, because I like to spend nights I can't sleep running around my backyard naked, and it's hard to justify that when I have clothes. What the hell am I talking about? I have no idea.

4. I am a grammar nazi. Nazi! I have the evilest eye for spelling and grammatical errors, and will correct strangers in public out of habit. I always feel bad and then explain why, but, eww, who does that? I also sing songs in a way that is grammatically correct. Stefani's "Rich Girl," for instance, I sing, "if I were a rich girl" instead of "if I was [sic] a rich girl." ...or I would, if I listened to it. I'm just saying. Some songs dangle prepositions all over the place and so I spazz out for twenty minutes thinking of ways the songs could be rewritten so "to" or "in" or "at" did not end a line and the beat and rhythm were still maintained. Along the same lines, kind of, I spell "catsup" ...like that.

5. I think learning is fun, so long as it's not math that can't be done with a calculator. Like, learning how to use a calculator? That is great. I'd even probably spend a night I'm not at work going to a free seminar or something about calculators. Because I like stuff like that. Which is why I am looking forward to college in the fall. And graduate school. For which I am already saving. Which I wouldn't have to do, if I were a rich girl. Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na, because I'd have all the money in the world. If I were a wealthy girl.

After Herbert's latest tantrum, I am kicking him to the curb. Our 11-month relationship is coming to an end; I was originally in it for the money, but sheesh, he just go so expensive. Always expecting things, like gas or break pads or new transmissions or oil every other day. And what did I get out of it? A ride every now and then. If you can call it that--more like "stranded on the side of the road." It did pick me up some hot boys. And the passenger seat was ideal for sex. But stranded! On the side of the road! And taillights that burn out ridiculously quickly. Who has to replace three bulbs in eleven months? ME! So, what's a girl to do?
